I just don't think he's even worth a practice squad spot at this point. He looked completely horrid at some points during the preseason. Sign somebody with some more potential upside. Now watch him become a pro bowler, because that always seems to happen when I bash a player, ha ha.

meh, with the shortage of decent O Linemen in the league and nobody else bothered to pick him up? Pretty much says it all.

He is 27, what development, do they think they can get out of him?

Parnell just signed a huge contract at 29. OL have longer careers than most other positions. And most nfl careers are about wear and tear not age.

lol at the word resigned without a hyphen in the thread title. It reads as Weems reluctantly accepting the spot on the practice squad. I hope he doesn't get too depressed. :) I hope his pass blocking improves as well while he's there. :(

at this point I'm guessing they only see Weems as an emergency fill in,,, I'm still disappointed that they rolled the dice on this guy as our swing tackle,,, swing tackle isn't a position to be taken lightly, especially when the RT is somewhat injury prone and the LT holds Romo's well-being in his hands. The three year rule should have applied to this guy last off season.

I wish we would move on. Weems, at this juncture, does not look like an NFL caliber OT.

Just because he signed it, does not mean he is worth it.

My question is, IF at 27, he is practice squad material, why is he on it? If he were 22, and had yet to scratch the surface, I would understand.

Parnell barely even played football in college(5 games at DE his Senoir year) and just started playing OT in the NFL in 2010.

He needs more practice, that's for sure

Yes he does, but I remember hearing about a basketball player that had great feet, that had no clue, and he turned out pretty good. I was scared to death even last year when he came in for Free. We will see.

They drafted a backup OT but he got injured.

The Dallas Cowboys reached an injury settlement Thursday with OT R.J. Dill (who had been suspended). So he's free to sign with any team.

The Detroit Lions signed OT Jordan Mills to their practice squad Thursday. The Dallas Cowboys waived Mills earlier this week.
