Tackle should be outlawed

We see it time and time again. A defender grabs the pads and then immediately throws his body into the lower half of the ball carrier and it's often what cause the exact same injury you saw to Dak yesterday. It's WAY worse than the horsecollar and in fact causes more injuries than just about any other tackle football. If the league is going to make rules to protect players, which clearly they are particularly for QB's, then this is one that needs to be implemented. If not, then get rid of all of them.

Make defense even more impossible to play. I'm sure the nfl will look into this. Would create more points scored and more fantasy numbers. Exactly what the nfl wants.

Disagree. These kinds of injuries are unfortunate— but a part of the game. Anytime someone smaller is tackling someone bigger — there is a certain amount of wrestling, torque, and leverage involved.

The NFL already protected the QB by giving them the slide option. Dak chose to stiff arm Ryan instead of sliding... the injury is as much his fault as anyones.

No more neutering defense. Any future rules that hamper playing defense should result in the shape of the ball getting fatter.

If the same injury happens to Andy Dalton due to this same kind of tackling, I guarantee the Dak haters will be crying for this type of tackling to be banned.

Dak could've slid or just ran out of bounds at that point.

or they could not be calling running plays with their quarterback when they had both zeke and pollard on the field and running really well.

Thats just me though and I know every nfl fan under 30 who is obsessed with fantasy football and wants the nfl to look like college football wants all offenses to be spread, hurry up and the qb running the ball all the time so this season is everything they wanted.

I saw nothing wrong with the tackle. What I saw was Dak trying to pick up the extra yards instead of getting what he could and then protecting himself by sliding to the ground. Dak is not some small QB and when he runs and does not slide then he is treated the same as any other ball carrier

IIRC, I don't think that was a called run. I'm against the qb called run too, unless you have a dynamic runner that has some elusiveness with him. now a scramble I'm fine with, but you have to slide or get out of bounds.

I honestly thought this was already apart of the Roy Williams rule?

Know it is part of the game but just like the horse collar tackle, when you tackle like that it's going to happen 9 times out of 10 just like yesterday. Not a fan of it but it's football.

I'm pretty sure that is apart of the rule. I would not be surprised if it is re-emphasized this week after Dak getting hurt

Well the answer would of course be flag football. Hey, that's be easy, just add another F to the logo, and presto!

NFFL. Already have the font for the F, wouldn't require much extra ink, or thread.

Genius!
