Taco vs. TJ Watt

Since it was a heavy debate last year and throughout the season of Taco vs. Watt
Let us take a look at this.
I don’t do twitter, so can’t post it. But Arcis Mosier has a tweet about it

Last 7 weeks:
Taco - 85 pass rush snaps - 3 sacks.
Watt - 138 pass rush snaps - 2 sacks.

So Taco was coming on late in the season as we all seem. I expect a bigger leap this season for him.
Throw in the possible return in the rotation from Gregory. And what ever Ealy can give us. We can have a pretty goo pass rush that we all been wanting for years, since we lost Ware as his production decreased over his last few years here.

I think Taco has better athleticism than Dlaw,he just had no idea on rushing the passer except his spin move.If he can get stronger this season then his bull rush will also add to his arsenal.

Watt had over 50 more pass rush attempts then Taco in just the last 7 weeks but yet Taco had more sacks. More opportunities equal more production. Taco was more effective rushing the passer and did it with way much less attempts.

Watt had 7 sacks, 54 tackles, 7 passes defended and 1 interception

Taco had 3 sacks 19 tackles, 1 pass defended and 1 forced fumble

Taco got a pass mark from me as a developing 1st round pick. He showed improvement but TJ Watt was a star all season and if he was playing RDE we’d have been significantly better.

If Taco can improve to have the type of season Watt had last year, I’d be ecstatic.

I like taco and have no complaints. He fit our scheme more but I wouldve chose watt. But not saying I dont have faith taco will be good.

It's a stupid comparison. It makes about as much sense as comparing a DT stats to a DE, let alone the fact that Watt play exceedingly more snaps.

Are pass rush snaps distinguished from overall snaps.

A star? No. Nice player? Yes.

Taco fits better in our scheme and has the size typically needed for success. Neither can really be judged just yet. It is way to early to know just how good taco will be.
