Now that Cincinnati drafted coveted offensive tackle Andre Smith in the first round, the Bengals' former starter at the position expects to be moved at any moment.
Levi Jones has been informed by the Bengals that they plan to trade or release the eight-year veteran, according to agent Kenneth Zuckerman.

The Bengals solidify their offensive line with Alabama OT Andre Smith at No. 6.

In the weeks leading to the draft, Jones was retained on the roster as insurance in case the team couldn't find a suitable replacement in the NFL draft.
Cincinnati selected Alabama's Smith with the No. 6 overall pick Saturday and will pencil him in as a starter, paving the way for Jones' likely exit.
"Nothing has happened so far, but we expect something to happen very shortly," Zuckerman told ESPN.com. "The Bengals told me it was highly likely that he would be traded or released."
Jones is a former first-round pick of the Bengals in 2002. He was one of the top tackles in football before numerous injuries the past three seasons hurt his production. Jones started just 10 games last season for the Bengals, who finished 4-11-1.

No way. Definitely not for a trade and we need to spend our cap money on much more important things (i.e. re-signing Ware). LT will be dealt with in 2010.

You should work on that headline. Levi Brown plays for the Cards and was a top 5 pick. He's not available.

did any of you listen to the press conference by jerry jones after the draft?
jerry said some team called the cowboys and offered a player for a low round draft choice. Think it was levi jones? i dont know to much about him, so i cant say if he was good or not, but he has had injury problems the last 3 years.

His injury problem would magically disappear once he signs with the Cowboys? No.

Would you guys be willing to trade Ellis or Carpenter, two guys who we know were or are going to be shopped for Jones? Jones instead of having a disgruntled Ellis, we have a guy who has to prove himself, or face being cut. He could be cut without any cap ramifications (I think) because the Bengals would eat his bonus and we would eat Ellis'.
