Might be an unlikely source to some of you, but 50 cent has a new initiative and goal to provide a billion meals in Africa over the next five years. Through the launch of his new energy drink, every one sold will provide a meal. In honor of the World Food Program week 50 has agreed to match each "Like" on the Street King Facebook page with one meal provided for someone in need in Africa. So if you would take 30 seconds out of your day, go through to the page and click like it would be much appreciated. No signing up, no pledging money, just a simple click and you can contribute. Thanks in advance to all the thoughtful members of CZ who take the time to come through for someone who needs it. Much respect for 50 as well, like him or not you can't hate on the cause! He doin it real big on this.

Just did it.

Although the money 50 is gonna send will never get to the children.

Warlords will intercept it like they do everything else over there.

I just hope those in need end up getting it. The problems in Somalia and other parts of Africa are nothing new nor is the fact that local war lords often see to it the food is stocked piled for their own use and those in need are left without.

For those who recall this was the situation that took place and lead to Blackhawk down incident.

Preciate that zrin. And yeah im not sure exactly how the world Food program goes about it in the war torn areas, or if they desginate other sfare aers in which ot operate. Either way it never hurt to try, and hopefully people will reap the benefits.

Done...and I agree with the concerns of Zrin and Dooms. But hey maybe this does get to some needy people, even if it is just a portion of the total.

I agree if only 50% of the supplies make it to those who need it then it is still worth giving to. However it still aggravates me to see people being deprived and no one standing up to those who create the problem.

Nope. Better to pool capital and start to microfinance. Doesn't depress their ag sector by flooding them with the type of food they can't compete with: free food.
