I also wanted to take a minute to CONGRATULATE one of our most popular

MILES AUSTIN

Last year I wrote a lot about this “unknown” kid from little Monmouth University that I was training. I even conducted an entire seminar entitled, “The Miles Austin Project”. From his bleu cheese addiction to his 40-yard dash time, anyone who follows my website got an inside look at this kid’s life while he was preparing for his (long) shot at the NFL. Well, not only did Miles make the roster of an NFL team, he ended up STARTING for the Dallas Cowboys by mid-season! Above he is pictured running back a kickoff for a touchdown during the Cowboys playoff game against the Seahawks. To say that I’m proud of this kid would be the understatement of the year.

Nothing like a salesman..."starting" is a little creative wording.

He was our kick returner!

I give him points for the pitch.....

Well he didn't start last year, but I think he has the potential to be a good #1 WR. We'll see how he develops this year.

isnt Hurd the Better WR prospect?

"Prospect"? No, he isn't. He was more polished starting out last year, but the better "Prospect" is Austin.

Really because i thought last year when Owens wasnt going to play against the titans i believe that Hurd was going to get the start.. i guess Hurd is further along but Austin has the higher ceiling..

Like I said, at the beginning of the year Hurd was more polished. The Titans were in week 4 (our 3rd game). That counts as being "early in the year".

I have hopes for Hurd too, but if I had to cut one of them, Hurd would be the one gone.

That's what I'm hoping for. Normally I don't like keeping that many but I don't want to get rid of any of our young guys.

he was out starting KR by mid-season, and will probably open up there again this year

austin will be a #2 wr at best. hurd will be a #3 at best.

I love how everyone is so sure about themselves on here, by reading the board, you would think people on here get paid for their football opinions

He's tall, big, fast, agile, great hands, and he just seems to have that hunger.

There's nothing really keeping this guy from being a very good player.

Hurd is supposed to have the better hands and run the better routes. I have no idea if that is true but that's the rumor. Austin has the speed and size. I would say his upside is higher but both have the potential to be solid WRs in the NFL.

DeFranco has an outstanding reputation, know a couple former HS football guys from jersey who have gone to him.

Some more pictures from his website:

I've been on DeFranco's email list for a couple of years now. If you guys like to lift, you'd enjoy reading it. He basically incorporates a lot of Louie Simmons-style explosive powerlifting training into athletic training.

I remember hearing Parcells absolutely rave about Austin in one of his press conferences last year. He made it sound like he thought Austin has the potential to be a premier receiver....was strange to hear him be that high on anybody.
