The first time Bryan Bulaga's name started popping up in regards to the Kansas City Chiefs fifth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, it was from Pat Kirwan of NFL.com.

Kirwan worked for the Jets as a personnel man up until 1997. Current Chiefs GM Scott Pioli came to the Jets in 1997 while Chiefs current head coach Todd Haley was already a scouting assistant there.

Kirwan is down at the NFL owners' meetings talking to key personneI folks so I take his thoughts a little more seriously after he prefaced his mock draft with, "I got to speak with more than a dozen of the key people running their team's draft. The team decision-makers aren't going to tell me (nor would I ask) who they are taking in the April selection process -- even if they knew for sure at this point. But they will talk about how much they like or dislike certain players."

He currently has Bryan Bulaga as the Chiefs fifth overall pick.

"With Okung having very little to no chance of falling to the Chiefs now," Kirwan writes, "Scott Pioli will grab a very solid tackle who is NFL ready. Not a flashy pick but a building block type guy."

Remember last year a few days before the draft when all of a sudden we realized Tyson Jackson could be the guy? Maybe this is a similar situation (and maybe it isn't) but Kirwan has been spending the past couple days talking to teams and this is what he's come up with.
