I know right? It's so obviously both.LOL.

Santayana was a wise egg. His wisdom stretches far beyond anything sports related. It is cautionary advice every human being should consider fully each day.“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
~George Santayana
Exactly. To say blindly that you aren't going to discuss past failures and to think that they have no impact on this year is foolish. The last 3 years tell you that in the playoffs this team does the same thing. Unless you replace your entire roster then you have to take in account past failure, especially from the last 3 years. Also, the Cowboys inability to perform in big games, more importantly the playoffs, is an issue for this team moving forward. The main characters are all the same.
What are the Cowboys doing to change that? So far, not a thing. They drafted some players? So did 31 other teams. What are the Jones doing to change the outcome?
There was nothing disrespectful about that post.Right on cue, the negative posters refuse to be respectful.
Because our FO is so NFL dense they cannot figure out the problem. Meanwhile, Cincy signs Reader/Ogunjobi/Hendrickson and makes a super bowl. Two DT's and a DE. Did you know that in the offseason where Cincy signed Reader, we signed like 5 FA's and could've had Reader for less. That was the Poe/McCoy/HaHa year. They all sucked.Exactly. I remember going into the first round last year. Not feeling confident at all. I wanted Dallas to play the Rams, especially with Dallas's history with Green Bay. Watching the game, I had paused it during the pregame stuff so I ended up being a half quarter behind in the broadcast. I was getting texts from friends saying what is going on with Dallas. I was perplexed, but when I caught up to live action, it was a nightmare that I had kind of expected.
Honestly, I expect nothing different if Dallas makes the playoffs this year because the main players/coaches are still involved.....unless they prove it otherwise.
Yeah, but it's funny, because it's quite often the Positivity Police that are the disrespectful ones. There was nothing disrespectful about that post.
Thread should end here.Change the owner/GM, the HC, and QB, and count most of us in.
Look in the mirror. There was nothing disrespectful about that post.
That response doesn’t even make sense lolLook in the mirror.
I like your plan and I try to incorporate the same thought process. I've deleted many takes and rebuttals recently knowing the life my comment would take.I won’t commit to not talking about the past because that’s a part of the history of the team. So I’m not going to stop talking about the glory days during the offseason and I’m not going to ignore the bad days. It’s all apart of being a fan.
But I deeply respect what you’re trying to do here. One thing I will commit too is to stop arguing for the sake of arguing. I started this a couple weeks ago. I just didn’t tell anyone about it. There’s 2 things I stopped doing to decrease my bad behavior as far as arguing goes. One thing is I am making an effort to not get emotional and see things in black and white. There’s a lot of grey in this world and when you go black and white you usually miss the point. Another thing I started doing was ignoring who the poster is when I comment. I don’t want to get caught up in “the great debate” so I do my best to ignore the name in the post and I comment on how I feel/think as opposed to pushing an agenda.
Those are 2 things I am willing to commit to doing, and actually started, to decrease arguments for the sake of arguing.
Go Cowboys!!!!
I agree. I’m all up for some back and forth but I would get caught up in trying to get the last word. Playing the “last word game” is what I’m trying to get away from. I don’t want to argue for the sake of arguing. When the back and forth gets a little chippy I’m really focusing on backing off, allowing someone else to get the last word and respect them for being passionate about the Cowboys even if we don’t agree.I like your plan and I try to incorporate the same thought process. I've deleted many takes and rebuttals recently knowing the life my comment would take.
I think to some the back-and-forth really is part of being on a forum and an environment in which they thrive (kudos to them) but to me it is energy robbing when you're posting something from actual print that can't be disputed and being greeted with, "your dumb, this is my opinion and it's correct. Emoji, emoji, emoji". I mean, where do you go with that? I've tried countering to with logic, and 45 mins. later there I sit frustrated that an individual(s) can't accept that opinions are like buttholes - everyone has one.
But hey, it's a forum and if you put it out there expect it to get bashed by someone. I always continue to check-in though, as I really do appreciate articles and links to Cowboys news that many take their time to post.
Thank you brother. That could not be said any better.
You are 100% correct. The constant rule breaking by attacking others personally is what keeps this place from being even better. Positive, negative, makes no difference which side one is on, an attack is an attack.
Well said!I like your plan and I try to incorporate the same thought process. I've deleted many takes and rebuttals recently knowing the life my comment would take.

I started last year not buying into the TC hype. Now, that might extend into the regular season. That's the best I can do.We all know about the last 28 seasons of playoff futility for the Dallas Cowboys. No one is unaware of this. But the Cowboys team won't have a chance to change that narrative until next January - if they make the playoffs at the end of the 2024 season. So, in my opinion, it is a waste of emotional energy to focus on past failures. The failures of the past 28 years have the same relevance to the 2024 season as the three Super Bowls won in the mid-1990's, and the Super Bowls won in the 1970's.
There is no "tradition of winning" left for Dallas to fall back upon. There is only now. This season. And there is a hope that every team in the NFL has at the beginning of a season that this might be the year for their team. The Cowboys players and fans have just as much right to embrace that hope as any other team in the NFL this year. Dwelling on the bitterness of past failures has the same value as dwelling on the glory of past successes. They are irrelevant to this year's version of the Cowboys.
So I have a request, and a commitment:
Request: Stop looking back, and rehashing the past. Choose to dwell on the hope and promise of a new season.
Commitment: I won't participate in discussions bashing players, coaching staff and front office personnel for the results of past seasons. I won't support positive takes from the past; nor will I support negative takes from the past. I won't defend the team, players and front office for past successes or failures. I just refuse to participate in those discussions. I will only participate in discussing the here and now issues for the 2024 roster, and the performances of staff and personnel that currently exist, in their present form. I won't condemn, or praise past performances on any level. It is just a waste of emotional energy, and doesn't contribute in any positive way to the discussions of this year's Cowboys team.
Who will join me?
Nominated for Post-of-the Year or Most Cerebral PostI don’t think that somebody is a true fan, or fanatic (as BobHaze appropriately referenced) if they are not spending “emotional energy”. I think most people that are spending time on NFL message boards in late May is likely more than your average fan. It’s probably unrealistic to expect them to ignore everything but the here and now about their team.
50 muscles? Frowning for these gainz bruh.It is a documented fact that you will use around 13 muscles to smile. However, you will need around 50 muscles to frown.
If the Cowboys get you down, stare at a clown.
