Observations from Mickey and Rob from Tuesday's OTA. (from Wednesday's Talkin Cowboy)last 12 minutes.

*
Barber looked good and healthy.

* Newman was making plays all over the field. Should have had a pick 6 on Romo.

* Romo had an off day.(Those wobbly high passes)

* Kevin Ogletree looked good running routes and catching the ball. Showed more speed than Manny Johnson.

* Patrick Crayton had a very good day.

*Roy Williams looked the best since he's been here. Watching him run routes he looked like a fluid receiver that has some speed, was catching the ball and looked like a receiver that was starting to get on the same page withthe qb. He just looks more fluid. He caught one slant and looked very fast after catching it. Mickey says he looked just as fast as Owens if not quicker getting off the line. (Just not as physical as Owens.)

*Miles Austin also looked good. He was catching the ball and running good routes.

* They had Felix all over the formations. They had Felix in the backfield with Barber and then motioned him out wide to WR. Next play they had him as a slot back to the right. The next play they had him as a single rb in the nickel. The next play they had him as the regular rb behind Romo. He looked more comfortable with all the plays and seem to understand them a lot better.

* They also mentioned that they think the four rookies that Joe DeCammilis was talking about as ST standouts were: JWilliams, DeAngelo Smith, Stephen Hodge and Michael Hamlin.

I like the makeup of this team...I think this team will surprise some people this year. Good mix of youth and people who want to play!

Getting Felix the ball in space should be the focal point of our offense.

On this front, I really hope that Garrett can steal a page or two out of Peyton's playbook, with the way that he used Bush his first couple of years.

IF Garrett achieves that and makes him the Marshal Faulk, Brian Westbrook, or Reggie Bush of this offense, this offense could be better than the '07 version. RW should EASILY catch 70-75 passes, Witten 80-85 with teams not knowing what the hell Felix is gonna do next. I'm really starting to agree with the Talkin Cowboy's Crew about how to use th RB's: Barber and Choice should be the main RB's with Felix getting all the "specialty" stuff (like having him in WITH the either of the other 2).

I really think we should go back to the system used when Julius Jones was here.

Have Choice as the starter and use him primarly between the 20s. (8-12 carries)

Give Marion a series in the first half, goal line and short yardage stuff, and the majority of 4th quarter carries. (10-15 carries)

Felix can be the 3rd down back. Put him in with either of the other two backs, split him out wide, or put him in motion for the best match up. Also use him as a kick returner. (8-12 touches, plus KR)

That should satisfy everyone and with that style of play and a blitz heavy defense we will win TOP and be able to run the ball that much.

Don't know if you guys heard it, but Wade sort of hinted at his PC the other day that Choice would be the third back again. He talked about the "top two guys" and then said something like "and Choice showed he can add some, too". Unless he's playing possum, it sounds like it will be the Felix and MB3 show.

Then again, Brian Estridge was saying yesterday that a little birdie on the coaching staff told him they were trying a few things with all three backs on the field at the same time. So who knows.
