Jerry on the fan today. "We had a rough yr defensively, but we didnt have a rough yr because of coaching"

question asked to Jerry about JG contract extension. "It doesnt matter if he has one or not because you can still be fired after you get that extension..It doesnt mean anything"

Lame Duck year on coaches in the nfl mean nothing. In the NCAA it does because of recruits but in the NFL players get paid reduardless of whos coach.

You can have a GM but the Owner is still the last say. He's the one who controls the money.

With Jerry its all about having the right people giving him information because he;s going to listen to you if you know what ur talking about. Not a guy who makes decisions without hearing people out.

Marinelli isnt going anywhere. He couldve got a DC last yr but he wanted to be in Dallas.

Philly is a finesse team who is not any kind of physical. You hit them and they fold.

Claiborne played well and if showed that they missed him.

Sunday was the loudest game ever in that stadium.

Broaddus says he would hire David Shaw

John Grudden told Broaddus, " you win dallas and you are know all over the world, Dallas is the biggest stage in the world"

Mike Zimmer should get a HC shot but his name isnt being thrown out there.

If Jerry wanted a Big Time coach he could have him. Dallas is the big show.

Cowboys New Years Resolutions
Sydney: For Cowboy Fans to stop being so negative. Be a true fan
Broaddus: If you tell me you are going to have balance, then have balance.(JG)
Rowan: Be honest, stop trying to drag things out.(JG)
Mickey: Dont pander to the media.(JG)

When you hear the same thing year after year from Garrett you stop believing what he's saying.

Jesse Holley told the fan today that Garrett is very stubborn, and he can be cutty inside the lockerrom.

With Garrett at HC even if the running game is getting 8 yrds a carry the RB is never going to get 30 carries. But if Romo is throwing the ball good he is going to get 60 throws. Thats just the way Garrett wants his team playing, he favors the pass. So stop asking to run the ball more becaue Garrett isnt going to change.

As Cowboys fans, really our only hope for the future is to just stay focused on the draft, not going to be active during FA, so lets get the ducks in a row and hope our current staff keeps drafting well.

If we go DL heavy in this draft, we should win our division easily next season.

DL is rich this year, a lot of massive, athletic hogs in this draft.

Give Marinelli what he needs!

While initially that may have been true, I don't think he leaves if Kiffen retires. It is not like he is going to retire if Kiffen does. Marinelli is not in line for any potential HC gigs or DC gigs that I know of. He will be back in his same role or as DC unless we somehow put the screws to Monte or hire a new DC who wants different staff, IMO.

Agreed.

I would like to see 3 of the first 4 picks be DL. The other one should be a guard.

MW, totally agree and here is my dream list,,, if all we came away from the draft was 3 players, 3out of this group would change this current cowboys defense into elite status.

Stephon Tuitt*, DE, Notre Dame
Height: 6-6. Weight: 312.
Projected 40 Time: 4.80

Ra'Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota
Height: 6-6. Weight: 311.
Projected 40 Time: 5.37.

Kelcy Quarles*, DT, South Carolina
Height: 6-4. Weight: 298.
Projected 40 Time: 5.05.

Daniel McCullers*, DT, Tennessee
Height: 6-8. Weight: 360.
Projected 40 Time: 5.45.

From what theyre saying is Marinelli has no desire to leave. He's happy in Dallas.

That's good to hear because if Smith gets hired in Tampa and we fire Kiffin it would be almost identical to when he left Chicago to come hear.

Allgood that you liked It, interpretation is the key.
IMO, being positive or negative is a state of mind, has nothing to do with being a true fan.
Being critical of things you see are an issue is a part of life. Critical thinking.

Very true, and I agree.

The problem with Jerry as a GM is that he thinks the Owner is more important than the GM. He thinks it all boils down to money, with the GM position, which is completely ridiculous. A GM probably looks at an owner as a bank and thereby comes up with a strategy to justify what he needs with what the owner wants.

Instead, Jerry looks at his GM duties from an Owner lens. He's thinking with his wallet when it comes to managing the team, because his schedule has commercials with Papa Johns, Boxing match promos, limitless radio and podcast interviews, etc. on it.

It's like a loan shark borrowing money from himself. All the methods a loan shark might use to get his money back are instantly out the window because what's he gonna do, break his own kneecap?

His wearing both hats is killing this franchise. Every interview these days, he's talking money. It's beyond ridiculous. It's not even like he's been particularly great with the money side of things either. He's a terrible GM AND a terrible owner, and even worse at both jobs because he refuses to make any changes.

And right there, the interviewer should have asked how our part time GM with no experience playing, coaching, or scouting at the pro level is able to make the determination that someone "knows" what they are talking about.

We're talking about a guy that still takes advice from Larry Lacewell.

That's a pretty fine list!

Yep, I'd be thrilled to get 3 out of those 4.
