Some teams pick up players that have been released by previous teams, so they can get a leg up on the opposing teams weaknesses and strengths. So, what do you think?

Tampa Bay claims Michael Hawkins

Cornerback Michael Hawkins, who was cut by the Cowboys yesterday, was claimed by Tampa Bay on waivers.

Might the Bucs bring Hawkins in to milk him for info about the Cowboys in preparation for the season opener? Stranger and shadier things have happened in the NFL.

RB Alonzo Coleman, who was waived-injured yesterday, cleared waivers. He's on the Cowboys' reserve-injured list now.

This has happened before hasn't it?

Where a team we were about to play signed one of our guys who was just released. I really can't remember who or what team though.

The Texans did it after the final pre-season cuts in their inaugural season and as others have stated it happens fairly often.

It is a little early to be game planning for the season opener. The Bucs are still trying to figure out their base offense and defense at this point.

I wouldn't care who picked him up. He didn't seem that good and couldn't stay healthy. Not worried why they did it or even that they did it.

Pick his brain about what? How the Dallas Training room looks?

Does Maurer and the crew use big ice, or crushed? :laugh1:

TB: Who should we look out for?
Hawkins: Stay away from that #94. And that #9, #82, #11, #28, #24!!!

Don't know about the seriousness of the injury, but I believe one of their corners, Will Allen suffered a shoulder injury last weekend. But i also think you guys are correct in the assumption that they will pick his brain for an added advantage.

Too early for him to help them out any against us. They haven't even begin to think about planning for the 1st game yet. Doubt he can make a difference at this point.

Tampa is looking for any advantage now. They still haven't' decided on a quarterback. Leftwich is now the fan favorite, after their game against TN. Their starting WRs are hurting.

And we lost that game by a hair. Appearently it was Pete Hunter who told Seattle that Romo couldn'd handle a slick ball as a kicking team holder, and the rest is history.

Just throwing this idea out there, I know it's far fetched, but perhaps the Bucs are a little thin at CB and need another camp body.

Call me crazy, but thats maybe the reason they brought Hawkins in almost a month before the first real game.

Hush child.

There's a full fledged panic in session.
