Tapper or extra RB

If the last spot on the roster was choose Tapper or the loser of the Jackson/Bo battle who would you choose?

I personally would go with Tapper mainly because the 4th RB would probably not get many snaps.

To me, I don't see a 7th WR being a legit question. I would keep Lenoir over Thompson for sure.

At RB we are gonna keep Zeke, Smith and probably Bo. I think there is more of a debate over a FB or a 4th TE to be honest.

If we go long somewhere I would prefer it be in defense.

I think Lenoir makes the team. I have Thompson and TWill possibly fighting over the 6th WR spot.

I think both are important for the reasons above and because just like positions like safety, injuries gonna happen..I think the possibility of an injury to dend is med to high before training camp ends...So They keep Tapper in the mix till the last cut down..Bo can get to the practice squad..The fact he lasted as long as he did to begin with speaks volumes..
I admit i didnt know Bo caught as good as he does...

Having three backs capable, running, catching, and hopefully bo can Block be solid for the Cowboys..That FB stilll going to surprise as well..

Bo and tapper both make this team..As of right now, But Seven dends? ELY was a hype train, unless he does something he aint making it..

DLAW, Taco, Crawford, Armstrong, Gregory, Tapper is six..Am i missing somebody?

Irving would be 7 (but he will start off suspended).

I think people overrate interest in Bo.

Bo Scarbrough has “really embraced special teams”

"Jason Garrett gave a great amount of time to discussing how much running back Bo Scarbrough has embraced special teams and even noted how difficult it can be for runners from schools like Alabama to do such a thing.".............

So much for your thoughts on the matter.

Should cement in other players that are on the bubble the importance of st in getting a roster spot....a teachable moment

Tapper is a fairly easy call. --especially with DLaw and Crawford at the end of their deals.

2018 may be fairly limited for either player....
In 2019 though; you could see Tapper playing 250 snaps for you, a 4th RB is likely still a 4th RB.
4th RB will likely be on a practice squad.

I suspect Bo has the roster made essentially. Cheap, quality back up who could play on game days if Zeke or Rod Smith were injured.
Team is built around run game.

WR Def keep 6 and I could see 7 as I'd keep a 7th WR over a 4th TE.
Especially if that 7th WR is a good special teams player.
That's one part of Rico's roster journey that hasn't been discussed but can he do anything on special teams?
He will need to if he is to be TE4 and make the roster.

Remaining fairly injury fee and having to make decisions is better than the alternative.

OL seems like it will be a bit light as we are very top heavy.

Thompson's only better at being fast. Is that enough?
Thompson is a very good special teamer.
He's 10th in active kick off return yard average.
That and 10 fly routes a game taking the top off a defense would interest me.

He also knows Lal very well and that helps.

I'd be tempted to go heavy at WR (6-7) and let things play out this year and you may also move on from TWill and Beasley as soon as next season.

An excellent sign for his chances to make this team. Going in, it was said that he would have to be able to play special teams to stick around and thus far, he's doing exactly that.

Tappers garbage and hes injury prone and were deep at that position. I would have cut Tapper long ago. And since our entire offense and team success is centered around the run game, I would keep Bo without a 2nd thought.
I agree. 110 percent.

Not debating here.. but that’s not fair to Tapper.

Tapper literally had a pre-existing degenerative back concern his rookie season (pars defect), then returned the following preseason and was playing great.. actually claimed a sack in the first game he played in, then was pushed aside as an inactive (bc Dallas already committed $$) for the scrub name Damontre Moore.. then broke his foot in practice. None of these scenarios was remotely his fault. So far this camp he’s flashed some, that’s saying a lot with the depth we have. Tapper has real potential. The real question is can he stay healthy? I’m on board with that concern.

Now if you want to ask the same question about Rico Gathers, Chaz Green, Duke Thomas, etc...

What have these guys done to warrant a roster spot?

I keep hearing from you Tapper guys that he has all this potential. I dont see it. When has he every showed it? And I certainly dont like guys that cant stay healthy. The Cowboys have already been planning around him. With Gregory back and Armstrong showing great signs there is no longer a need for you guys to hold onto false hope that a long shot like Tapper could become something.

Do you like anyone on the Cowboys? Every post I read you are saying someone is garbage.

All of our starting Olineman. Really like Conner our 2nd pick. Dak, Zeke, Hurns, Beasley, Gallop. Lawrence, Armstrong, Gregory (?), Lee, Smith, V, Thomas, Chidobe, Woods. I think Bo can do some damage with a few carries. I like Richards and Lail. Other than that the rest are either garbage or JAGS.

Guys I have a real sore spot for?

Garrett, Taco, Heath, T Will, Jones (unless he can prove that the coaches miscast him),

I would love Irving if he could stay sober.

The few times he's played, he's flashed

I like Bo as the third back, not the fourth.

I'll take Tapper. When healthy, it's nice to have a DE with WR speed.
