I'm trying to figure out how to draft Dallas WR's for Fantasy Football this year and I think it translates into a good conversation about real football.

A lot of fantasy experts don't like Cooper this year..

Well what if Amari Cooper is the guy that gets put in the slot more this year? Amari Cooper would absolutely dominate in that position.

Gallup has the X spot on lockdown but volume is not going to be his strength but he should see a lot of 1 on 1's allowing for more big plays. Much more feast or famine this year.

Then we have CeeDee Lamb. How much will he cut into others targets? How many scores could he potentially have?

I'm thinking Lamb gets around 50 catches and 5 or 6 TD's but if he is playing slot and getting matched up with Nickel corners and safeties then who knows how well he could do.

Any thoughts on total receptions and TD's for these guys?

Who cares what fake experts think for a fake (fantasy) league thinks. :muttley:

However to respond to your question. Cooper is still a great choice no matter where he lines up at.
He is still considered the #1 WR on the team. Lamb will be a learning experience still, especially with the lack of off-season work. Though Gallup will improve even more. Cooper is still the #1.

It's pretty impossible to guess. Using the 2010 & 2011 Packers as a template, I'd think that Amari will get over 100 targets, but then Gallup, Lamb, and Jarwin will all range from 70-80.

I don't really think Lamb is going to take away Cooper's targets, so gut feeling is that Cooper should be about the same as last year. If we're talking about fantasy, I wouldn't at all expect Gallup to have the season he did last year. Having said that, McCarthy isn't likely to be nearly as conservative as JG, so targets could go up across the board just because of a philosophy change.

This is an interesting discussion, and I've thought about it myself. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the distribution is similar to last year, with Lamb getting something like the same number of targets as Cobb got, or maybe cutting slightly into the targets Gallup got.

But the other factor is whether the team will throw as much this year as last year. We threw the ball 57% of the time last year, and I could see the passing attempts dropping back at least a little and trying to get the running game a little more established with Zeke.

Who said Lamb was starting?????? He's a rookie and a rookie with NO training camp/preseason games. I love the kid and the pick but I'm also struggling with getting too excited. Especially with stats/history showing kids from this position have initially struggled with the pro game.

BTW.......who's our 4th WR ????? What's a little crazy, I'm struggling to name any of them after Lamb. One thing sure, the drop off after Lamb is HUGE. Maybe this is where we keep Dez on speed dial if CV-19 cost us two starters at the same time.

That's a fair point, but part depends on how you define "starting". I think he will be the 3rd receiver, and I think we will use a lot of 3 WR sets, so in that context he will be starting. But there are times we will use 2 WR sets (with either 2 TE's or a FB being on the field), and in those cases he may play less than Cooper and Gallup. I don't think he is in danger of being the 4th receiver because I don't see that much competition, plus as a first round pick he will get every opportunity to earn the role. But, it is fair to point out that as a rookie he still hasn't proven anything yet.

3 WR is our base offense.

Lamb starts.

Oh, I agree 100%........just hate to see fans/posters start turning on the kid if he struggles a bit out the gate and we KNOW there are a few that will.
