Tavon Austin is 5 '9

Tavon is fast. JG probably sees Alvin Harper when he watches Tavon run.

coaches trying to get shorter players to catch grounders, problem is Dak was throwing high most of the game

I'd move him around on offense until he's matched up on a LB or safety. This staff doesn't understand these things however.
yeah the coaching is really bad this year, and stephen didnt help when he shut down dak running,

To be honest, Tavon's showing more here as a receiver than he ever has in his career. He can legitimately separate as a deep threat. The problem is that either Dak doesn't hit him or he's got hands of rock when the ball gets does there, but he's been getting open.

I still think he's got some under-utilized potential as a YAC guy as well: throw him a bubble screen or a pop pass on first down and see what he can do with it. It's pretty sad when Jeff freaking Fisher could milk 10 TDs out of his skill set while Garrett and Linehan are clueless. But they're trying to press him into that downfield sideline receiver mold, and tbh, he's been better at it than I expected.

Fans complain, so for one quarter of one game the Cowboys show a little creativity. Then it is right back to the same old predictable offense.

Motion the WR to the formation and run, zero crossing routes again. Never went back to any of the stuff that worked on the first drive.

The only deep ball came on Dak's insanely amazing scramble and throw to Austin. Other then that its all short, safe throws.

The oline can't pass protect and the run blocking is suspect, the QB is hesitant and inaccurate and our WRs are below average. That all adds up to a dismal offense.

All of our players are being used wrong. Even Zeke at times. It's so depressing.
Indeed, I think it was Romo who alluded to the fact the Cowboys are running out the same old scheme without taking into consideration the change in personnel and running an offense that fits their skills.

Loved the pass to Rico. Too bad it's the last time that we'll see him being used as a 'weapon', if you will. Guess it was a fun ride while it lasted!!!!

And DeSean Jackson is 5'10". You put Austin out wide for the same reason you do Jackson. He's got game changing speed to stretch defenses.

You weren't asking why he's playing outside when he hit that big play against the Giants.

It’s because he’s the only seudo playmaker, and Beasley is the only guy who Beats 1-1 fairly often, yet they are both midgets. They can’t both play the slot. Zeke is the only true playmaker on offense....that’s a problem, but you’ll never get a consistent performance from the QB without a true go-to TE who can win and make plays. The TE is actually more important to any QBs success, comfort, and confidence than the wideouts.
