People, especially Lions fans and apologists, forget one aspect that the Cowboys LBs and DBs admitted after the game. Pay attention:
We all know, by listening the audio, that #70 was declared eligible. Okay so the Lions can't stop that without a time out left. They probably don't even have time to run another play.
But here's the thing, again even supported by the Dallas defensive players, even if #68 is correctly annoinced eligible, as the Lions wanted, where do you think Dallas's defense would have left #68 uncovered ? They accounted for the lineman that was announced as an eligible receiver -- #70. Had #68 been announced, they would have accounted/covered him too.
Bottom line: You weren't going to be fooling anybody with whomever lineman you wanted to throw to. #70 was announced, so they had a guy on #70. Had #68 been announced, guess what, they would have accounted for him too. Next time try throwing it to one of your playmakers.
