Taylor Mays vs Patrick Peterson

In case the OP was serious.

Mays was a physical freak who has some serious coverage issues. We knew he would wow at the combine with his combination of size, speed, and strength. He can play 1 NFL position and that is Strong Safety (maybe OLB in a 4-3).

Peterson is a football freak who some scouts aren't sure is a CB (most think he is). He could potentially play anywhere in the Secondary. He is also a high caliber return man.

Peterson isn't the tackler Mays is but he is a much more complete football player.

Mays is probably the worst coverage safety I ever studied at any length. He showed zero sudden change ability and zero instincts. He was a LB playing safety who would come up and wreck you. Peterson is a very good coverage player with elite quickness who can press or play off. PP is easily the top CB on the board.

Mays is a SS/Nickel LB
PP is a CB/FS

No, if you look back on old threads most knew Mays was grossly over rated. Could not cover me, and made very few plays. That is not to say I'm sold on Peterson.

OMG NO. No way. Those guys are as good as they are because they have special god given instincts. Their both very athletic aswell, much like Peterson, but Peterson lacks the instincts to even come close to the guys you mentioned. JMO.

Jury is still out on AOA. At this point looks like a very linear athlete to me, which troubles me. Hope Campo gets the boot and he gets some decent coaching for starters.
