Are the Cowboys better off drafting a TE or a WR? I am looking at Dak and how he likes to play and I think they are better with a TE like Gesicki big target I think ran a 4.54. I know they had two TEs before I ain’t sure if the problem was Romo having more confidence in Witten being his security blanket and not working in the other TE or the offensive coaches failing to design a good two TE offense. I think Dak would greatly benefit from a big fast target over the middle more so than anything this group of WRs could offer. Gesicki, Witten, Hearns, Beasley, Switzer, Brown and Williams I think could be a pretty good receiving group.

Between the 2... Easily a TE.

I think the best WR for us though would be Chark.

You can just stick him out wide and run him off into coverage every play like we like to do and it would actually play into his strengths.

James Washington probably fits that type too.

Just put them out wide.. Then take what the defense gives us which won't be a WR.

Maybe Zeke can be so good that it forces man coverage and you get the big play.

I like Chark and wouldn’t mind taking him too but I think Dak gets more use out of Gesicki.

The problem with picking a TE is you have to have one who can actually block and not just be a receiver. This team is going to run the rock a lot. Lots of the TE's folks are talking about are those who are primarily pass catchers and that won't cut it.

WR

The Boys still have Rico on the roster (must see something in him) and they like Jarwin, who they put on the active roster last year from the ps so the Eagles wouldn't claim him. Maybe they take a te with one of their 3 6th round picks.

Do you think Dak would get more use out Ridley than an athletic pass catching TE?
yes.
Ridley is an excellent route runner and has great hands...thats what Dak needs.
Until Witten retires,I dont see another TE being used properly.
Give Dak a WR who can run routes and catch with his hands.

but does Ridley make it to 19?
I want it so probably not.

This year crop of TE'S is vastly better than the last few years. This would be the time to take a flier on a guy like Gesicki,Hurst, Goedert or a guy that's projected in the 4th..Ian Thomas. I would be happy if we landed any of them..altho I think I prefer Gesicki/goedert..flip a coin.

Think what a pure athletic pass catching TE would do for the offense. Defenses would have to defend the deep seam routes,PLUS Witten underneath and Zeke comin out of the back field..either running a catchin! Never mind what it would do for the wideouts. Pick your poison. Who ya going to defend? This is why I think we should run a ton of two tightend formations. Providing we draft accordingly. HARD TO DEFEND..and its all about options for Dak.

Yeah but Dak is better with his inside targets and Gesicki is a guy who has the athletic abilities to make plays. We haven’t really tried a second TE with Dak I think he would use him more than Romo did.

This years group is not really that good especially when compared to last years group.

The Giants drafted the best TE last year...after that its a crap shoot. I haven't heard anyone outside of you that liked last years bunch better. Its just deeper this year.
