I was thinking about this the night we IMO paid a guy $100m that we shouldn't have, but I won't get into that. I was thinking Cooper has bad games against good corners, which is fine it happens to all WR's but him more than the other top WR's. I was then thinking if we are going to take full advantage of him and his abilities having him play the slot more in those types of matchups there isn't a slot CB in the NFL and damn sure no LB or safety that can matchup with him from that spot. If some how Lamb fell to 17 or striking distance he could play the outside opposite of Gallup with Amari in the slot, and with McCarthy Jarwin will be inline and flexed out you have a nightmare for the opposing team especially when you factor Zeke and Pollard (who I hope has a Kamara type roll in this offense) for teams to matchup against. The league has gone to more of a spread look and the name of the game more so now than ever is matchups, with Lamb on this team this offense would be virtually unstoppable if schemed correctly.

I love Kinlaw, and the upside of Chaisson but the dynamic of Lamb to this offense would make it pretty darn unstoppable especially if you are going to pay the QB what he is inevitably going to be paid.

That's great but how do you fix the defense?

FA Focus of players remaining.
Everson Griffen RE gives you the one spot that might be impossible to fill in this years draft an immediate impact pass rusher at DE

Damon Snack Harrison: Big Ugly that will take up double teams stop the opposing teams running game.

Ron Leary: Lets face it he hasn't been the same player in Denver as he was here and faced injuries, but he knows these guys and the mesh would be like he never left. I am not sure how much he has in the tank but I would give him a 1-2 year deal on the cheap and I think he would take it because of the fit/ connection and he has made his money.

Darron Lee: This a guy coming out of the draft I was very high on, he has all the tools to be a stud linebacker but dealt with immaturity issues and honestly I couldn't tell you if he's grown up yet. What I can say is the guy can be a solid depth player at all 3 LB spots and easily be the most athletic player at LB on the team and one of the best on the entire defense. This one I am very intrigued with if we can get him on a fairly cheap 1-2 year deal.

Draft:
1st: Lamb WR Oklahoma
2nd: Arnette CB OSU
3rd: Bryce Hall CB UVA
4th: Leki Fotu DT Utah

Would be my first 4 rounds.
If we could pull this off our defense is set outside of needing a CB which there should be some in the second round and it gives us the flexibility to move up if needed.

Why are we signing Ron Leary? At OG we have Martin, Williams, McGovern, Looney, and Knight.....I don't think we need an OG. I'd rather a swing tackle.

There you go.

IF Lamb is there, and I think theres a decent shot of that happening, he WILL be BPA and must be taken, as much as this defense needs fixing.

I’d draft Lamb at 17 regardless of what we’ve done or will do for the defense in FA.

He’s one of the few blue chip prospects in this draft IMO and is much better than any defender we’re talking about at 17.
He won't make it to 17.

This is one of the deepest drafts in NFL history for Wide Receivers. We have a 1-2 receivers in Cooper and Gallup. It would be foolish to draft Lamb. Now a shrewd trade down to get more picks is what we should do. The teams behind is need to offer a 1st and a second but the Joneses will panic like they did in the Frederick draft.

I think Lamb is a game changing WR, and I get it we can get one later but if there is a game changer you take him and fill needs later or in FA. Skipping a game changer for need is foolish in my opinion.

I am a trade down guy, but that depends on whats available. Lamb, Kinlaw (if the knees check out), Chaisson, Henderson, Juedy, and Ruggs in that order are players I don't trade away from but if none of those are on the board by all means trade back.

Also it depends on whats being offered in a trade down, and if we are getting back a end of the 3rd round type of pick in return is it really worth the trade back if you really like someone?

Passing on Lamb would be insane. As a prospect, he's a better route running version of Hopkins. That good.

Zero chance he gets to us at 17, but if he's there, he's way better than anything else on the board and you take him.

I agree, CJ Henderson or Chaisson what would your pick be between the two?

Probably only one of those guys will be available to us. I am thinking Brown or Kinlaw. The Jets,49ers, Broncos will probably take care of Juedy and Lamb. I just don’t see a 6 foot tall 4.3 cornerback (Henderson) dropping out the top 12. Chaisson reminds scouts of a young Quinn. Ruggs might be there at 17 but would you really spend a 1st pick on a slot receiver. Now if the 4 quarterbacks and 4 tackles go early you never know.

I think Henderson might go to the 49ers at 13, and I think Chaisson is the wildcard he could go top 15 and I think all things being considered for the Cowboys he might be the highest guy on their list as guys that might be around the if they don't address it by draft time. Ruggs I think can play inside or outside, and I actually see him more outside WR than inside honestly.

IDK how realistic Lamb being there at 17 or striking distance for the Cowboys to slightly move up if he is not I would look to go a few different routes.
1st RD 17:
CJ Henderson
K'Lavon Chaisson
Javon Kinlaw
2nd 51
Brandon Aiyuk
KJ Hamler
AJ Terrell
Julian Okwara
Jaylon Johnson
3rd RD 82
Donovan Peoples-Jones
Terrell Burgess
Michael Pittman
Jordan Elliot
Davon Hamilton

What would be your 3 Rd's?

That’s a good job of dividing the draft board correctly. I would like to have Chaisson, Terrell, and Elliot. You can get a receiver in the 4th or 5th round.

I like Henderson, Aiyuk, and Elliot, but Chaisson, Terrell, and Pittman don't sound so bad.

11 personnel is base. You have 3 WRs on the field over 65% of the tim.e

Lamb in round one would be a slam dunk

The answer is draft a player in the 3-5th in this loaded class and we’ll be fine.
Why settle for "we'll be fine" when you could easily accomplish "we'll be excellent."

"We'll be fine" is a Jason Garrett special.
