I thought this was interesting in going with the theme of the draft this weekend and the needs addressed.

The following players have 10 yrs or more in the league. So have the organization done enough to prepare for their departure?

16 yrs Brad Johnson QB (backup)
13 yrs Aaron Glenn 3rd Corner
11 yrs Terrell Owens WR
11 yrs Terry Glenn WR
11 yrs Marco Rivera RG ( I believe he is gone already)
11 yrs Greg Ellis OLB
11 yrs Jason Ferguson NT
11 yrs Flozell Adams OT

starters in RED

Note: The next oldest in yrs on our current rosters is Gramatica with 7 yrs. So you can see that we do have a pretty young team with alot of talent and alot of upside.

But as you look at the list above can we say that we have addressed these positions or do we feel we have the capable personnel already on the roster? Tell me what you think.

WRs... YES and NO... we have quality #2 or #3 guys but our next 1 is in question but will be addressed in next year's draft (Manningham I hope).

OT... Yes, this year's class along with McQ will be our future.

OLB... Yes, we have plenty.

Manningham? The guy only caught 38 passes last season, and 27 the year before. He's good, but he's not top 5 good (assuming you're thinking we use Cleveland's pick on him) barring an exceptional 2007 season.

Plus, he only weighs a buck 80, if that

He was injured HH.

But the guy is a flat out game changer and trust me, you will hear much more about him as the college football year starts.

Even if that's the case, runningback is always a safer pick than WR at the top of the draft because RBs directly impact a game. Receivers need a good QB to get them the ball first.

McFadden is being compared to guys like Dickerson and Campbell with more speed. He'll be GREAT.

Personally, I hope a WR like Mannignham or that kid from Cal (can't remember his name) has a good, but not great, season so that we can pick McFadden at the top then get a good yougn WR with our pick later in the first

Well I am 1 of the few that havent given up on our current RB situation.

So I am not going into the season thinking we need a new RB.

I totally agree. I am not looking to change anything in our running game unless it shows up broken. Alot of people have been trading JJ off to the nearest PeeWee tram but I believe we will see a complete running back with no fear os reprisal from BP this year. I think the 3 styles of backs we have now will serve us well with hopedully a very improves line.

I would like to see us get 1 more DT in free agency. I'm not sure about a name, but a backup type. Next years draft we can worry about a top DT out there in the draft. Same with our WR. I bet TO stays in Dallas a couple more years. So we may draft WR next year to keep the depth going there. CB will also probably needed to be addressed either in free agency or in the draft next year also.

But there aren't that many concerns for this year if Spencer can play.

For what it 's worth I really don't invision a let down for the future.

I think C Brown can based on his size and speed play the 3rd/slot CB without a problem.

If Moore is all of what everyone is raving about we should have a pretty solid back up beyond B Johnson yrs.

As for TO/ Glenn........I feel we might have some real up and coming rec. We may need a so call "#1" whatever that suppose to be. I think we have wr that can be position rec. and also those that can stretch the field. I know you want one that demands double team but that will come in time.

Tackle spot is taken care of I believe with this draft and if Flo don't Sho this yr, he will not have to worry about a contract in Dallas.

My only concern is a very good replacement or back up I should say for Fergie. Hopefully we can develop one of the 3 we have now. (Stanley, Ayodele. or the UDFA)

if we don't re-sign JJ, we're going to need a new RB

DB, NT, and WR.

All were team needs that were not met by this draft.

That's the reason some of us feel it was a disappointment.

We gotta go forward now.

NT is the only position that NEEDS something now. DB and WR do not. They can wait untill next year. In that case, our draft was good.

16 yrs Brad Johnson QB (backup) --------we have tony romo and moore, suppose to be good by jaws comments
13 yrs Aaron Glenn 3rd Corner ------- like one person posted, i think courtney brown is a super sleeper cornerback, he supposedly is 6-1 206 with 4.34 speed and 41 inch vertical leap, i think he can be and in time take over for anthony henry
11 yrs Terrell Owens WR --------- if Stanbach is good as they say, he might be the super sleeper wr and punt returner, in time, but i still think we need to draft another top wr with our other # 1 pick, but mcfadden with the first one
11 yrs Terry Glenn WR
11 yrs Marco Rivera RG ( I believe he is gone already)------- our offensive line is fixed with leonard davis, mcquistan, marten, gurode, colombo, & free-whom in my mind was a steal in the 4th round;ALSO FLOZELL WILL PLAY I THINK THIS YEAR WITH PASSION, HE KNOWS THIS IS HIS LAST YEAR, AND HE WILL WANT TO PLAY GOOD TO GET A GOOD CONTRACT FROM ANOTHER TEAM NEXT YEAR
11 yrs Greg Ellis OLB---------- WE HAVE WARE, CAPPENTER, SPENCER NOW,
11 yrs Jason Ferguson ---------NTTHIS IS OUR BIGGEST NEED, WE NEED TO ADDRESS THIS
11 yrs Flozell Adams OT

starters in RED

Note: The next oldest in yrs on our current rosters is Gramatica with 7 yrs. So you can see that we do have a pretty young team with alot of talent and alot of upside.

No way in the world McFadden had more speed than Dickerson, if Dickerson had stayed with the Rams and kept his mouth shut he could have ran for 20,000 yards..........

I agree, Im more concearned about the Oline then the running backs. Hopefully Davis and co. will open some holes for JJ and Barber. I firmly believe if you have a good Oline you dont have to have a superstar RB to win the SB.

How about Limas Sweed with our 2nd 1st round pick? While I think he'll make more of name for himself this coming season, I'm hoping he can still drop far enough for us to grab him.

6'5 220 and fast. Had 46 catches for 801 yards and 12 TDs last season. He'll improve on those this year.
