You get the feeling that Cooper and Collins are cap causalities more so because of their personality and related consequences.

Collins bribed someone and cost himself and the team embarrassment besides not being on the field for 5 games after being given a season to recover and get healthy.

The same can be said of Cooper. He missed 2 games - really 3 and it disrupted the continuity of the passing game while costing 20 million with a newer contract. It could be argued the offense didn’t really recover from that when in the hunt for the one seed.

The FO had seen enough of these two and cut bait with decent backups available for less.

Is this about team culture? I think there is something to it.

Good points both missed games needlessly.
This is a team sport, it's not just about you.

Fun to watch what happens now that he's not there, Coop wasn't the problem.

Blaming Collins and Cooper for the way the team played down the stretch when both were back on the field is misguided at best. If the Jones boys are thinking this then we are in deep trouble.

And again, I have no problem trading either of them but you have to have a plan to replace them. Letting your best players go without having other players to take their places is folly.

Also, if you are going to trade them, maximize their value then trade them. Getting nothing for Collins was just stupid.

Collins maybe.

Amari was dropped because you don't pay $20M for a WR who has NEVER had >1200 yards or 10 TDs in a season. He's a really good WR who makes big plays in big units. He is not a top 5-10 WR who should eat that much cap.

Prescott’s quarterback rating in 2021 was significantly worse without Cooper on the field.

#COWBOYS QB DAK PRESCOTT WITH AMARI COOPER IN 2021:

PASSER RATING OF 108. #COWBOYS QB DAK PRESCOTT WITHOUT AMARI COOPER IN 2021:

PASSER RATING OF 83.1.

Ya no doubt Amari is a good WR and Dak benefited from him being in there. But 75% of Amari’s yards were in the air. 3.5yac/reception is dismally bad. Guys like Deebo and Ja’marr are more than doubling the yac. Amari sees contact coming and he tends to shy away from it. I like Amari but facts are facts.

Well said I definitely think there's something to that. They pissed off the wrong people, let their teammates down, and their play didn't exactly warrant their contracts. Those 3 factors led to the Cowboys moving on.

The ole addition by subtraction argument. If only it were true. Does anyone really think the product on the field will be better this coming season? I kinda doubt it.

This is not a fact it's your opinion.

As a wr Deebo can't hold a candle to Cooper.

This offense lack of flexibility and Dak's adherence to the rules of this offense is the reason Cooper's not here.

Yes.

Not only that, but they were not performing up to their respective contracts. I like this as opposed to what we did with DLAW...guaranteeing money for underperformance.

We need to do something to get better though.
