Team Culture - no Collins and Cooper

You get the feeling that Cooper and Collins are cap causalities more so because of their personality and related consequences.

Collins bribed someone and cost himself and the team embarrassment besides not being on the field for 5 games after being given a season to recover and get healthy.

The same can be said of Cooper. He missed 2 games - really 3 and it disrupted the continuity of the passing game while costing 20 million with a newer contract. It could be argued the offense didn’t really recover from that when in the hunt for the one seed.

The FO had seen enough of these two and cut bait with decent backups available for less.

Is this about team culture? I think there is something to it.
Yet they held on to Elliott through his numerous transgressions during his 6 years - plus extended his contract earlier than need be -or needed to.

Cooper didn’t bother me. You could tell he got frustrated with Dak but most receivers have felt that way. He always supported Dak publicly.

Collins and Gregory were absolutely me first guys and I’m glad they’re gone. Now the Cowboys need to do their jobs and replace those players.

Cooper is a good player. Collins' best days are far behind him. If the Cowboys didn't sign Gallup, keeping Cooper would have been the right move.

I don't get it. Players missed games for the same reason that Cooper missed games. It’s not like their was some magic potion.

maybe coach mccarthy is building the team he wants.
maybe he wants his kinda guys and not garretts rkg's.
maybe mccarthy has more of a say than some think.
maybe he's pissed at how this team didn't finish and is holding who he can accountable.
just a thought.

The ole addition by subtraction argument. If only it were true. Does anyone really think the product on the field will be better this coming season? I kinda doubt it.
depends on who they draft.
might look a lil better if we have lamb/gallup/olave...or burks.
same at de.
dlaw/myjai sanders...or kingsley enagbare.
i'll miss coop...but hopefully we get a de who knows how to line up...not off sides.
or tackles the ball carrier instead of ot's.

You might be on to something, and if so I hope the message resonates with the rest of the team

Collins was a clown, Gregory too little, too late. It will take more for me to believe Coop was a part of "bad culture."

I think you’re onto something. I think the management and coach really thought they had a chance last year. When guys weren’t there for whatever reason and the effort that was put out in the playoffs I think really upset them. Now they’re getting rid of the ones that irritated them

Maybe this has more to do with Mike? Maybe just maybe he’s tired of JG’s coddled players. Who knows
