Jerry once said that he really doesnt truly own the Dallas Cowboys. In his mind, he was just borrowing them or just carrying the torch or something to that effect. In reality, the reverse is true. The Dallas Cowboys is Jerry's business. Obviously, he runs it as such. His dad taught him that people wanted entertainment, a show and it needed to be big. Well, there is none bigger than Cowboys Stadium. Somewhere along the way, football became secondary to Jerry (yes, I use to believe winning championships is what fueled Jerry, naive). Dallas Cowboys the business, trumped Dallas Cowboys the football team. If he actually cared about THE Dallas Cowboys, he would bring in a GM to handle football matters. We all know that will never happen.
Jerry's vision of success for the Dallas Cowboys is not ours. When we see this team, we see THE Dallas Cowboys, a once proud football organization. When Jerry sees it, he sees it as his business empire- flourishing, prosperous, bigger than life. Hey look at what I did! Jerry will never look at the team the way we do. Never.
