OG that can actually play in the NFL when someone goes down.
Hamlin to SS and a new FS with Williams gone.
A decent backup QB.
New special teams coach.

T.O. I don't know? Talented but a locker room problem and on the field I think they try and force the ball to him out of fear.

Some hard driving coaches that don't put up with the stupid penalties and mental mistakes. I don't see any coaches that are intense or breathe fire that the players fear or really respect. Just a bunch of soft spoken cuddly types.

What do you guys think the team needs. Don't give me any Madden type trades or moves.

As for the OG position, I think M Holland can be fine with an off-season behind him. He and Kosier can battle it out.

That said, we still need more depth on the OL. I wonder how Free is progressing?

On Defense, I agree that we should move Hamlin to SS, and we should look to get another FS. Unless Henry is supposed to be that guy, but regardless, we need more Safety help.

Also, we need another 2 ILBs. With Z Thomas gone, Carp ineffective, and Burnett a FA, maybe we need 3 ILBs. Maybe 1 in FA, and 2 via the Draft (or vice versa).

I still wish we could get a massive NT in FA as well.

Pretty much...this team doesn't need another guard. You can't bank on both your starter and your backup going down for a significant amount of time.

Holland as the backup at both spots didn't prove himself to me.

Willis McGahee is still running. (Ryan Grant last year) Hamlin isn't very good against the run, imo. He is good at preventing the bombs at FS. That is why his pick numbers dropped from 5 to 1. Teams knew better. Yes, he botched that fumble, but if he wasn't here, think about the 06 Saints game.

Hamlin may have been over paid a bit, but what options did Jerry have? He had no safeties who could play centerfield or cover very well.

Hamlin is very solid at FS.

I say Roy Williams will be back at a reduced pay, and the Cowboys will draft a SS.

Personnel wise? I don't see many moves. Might want to look to upgrade that ILB. I'd like to give Burnett the nod but that's up to this team. Backup QB is a must. Definately need to get some depth at the safety position. Definately need to get another nose tackle since Tank seems to be gone. Also a position no one is talking about is Left Tackle. Time to either upgrade or say buy to Flozell. He was horrible this season. The penalties okay. You know he continues to get that one a game out in the 1st half I think we can live with that as crazy as that sounds. But not the horrible play. Not the slow feet work. That's why he was so good. Had great feetwork for his size. I hope he was playing hurt. I really do. Even then we still need to look for his replacement.

Hamlin is not good enough to start. He's the definition of an "unguided missile." If he hits you, he'll crush you. Otherwise, it's off to the races.

You can't live with this.

This team needs two new safeties. Hamlin's big new contract was foolish and it will really cost the team.

I'd like to see Hamlin go but this may have been just an "OFF season" for him. Wasn't really a good one. Loved him in Seattle though, and he was good last year. Maybe he just had some trouble with the lack of stability at the other safety position and a new CB core.

I agree about Hamlin. There appear to be several promising Safties in this year's draft, but alas, we have no 1st round pick...

I have a hard time getting excited about any additions made with Dunce Man still coaching the team, but I think from a personnel standpoint we need an offseason full of gritty players added at unsexy positions.

From a backup quarterback, to two or three backup offensive lineman (Free, Procter and McQuistan can hit the road) to a backup nose guard to a starting inside linebacker to a backup outside linebacker to a strong safety.

I'd prefer a backup quarterback from the Romo mold -- a guy with some mobility, not a 40-year-old statue that can't throw downfield. Just seems like a bad transition for the offense to have to make if Romo goes down.

I'd like a hard-hitting, missle-seaking safety -- a late-round gem like the Commanders' Horton would be a great mold to shoot for.

I think we need a big-bodied nose tackle to supplement Ratliff.

But again, it's hard to get excited about any of this with Dunce Man leading the way.
