Edge-believe they are 1 more high level pass rusher away. We have heard Greenard from Minnesota and Josh Sweat from the Cardinals could be available via trade, both have a connection with our current staff. I think any trade would be post draft as they want to see what happens with the draft first. For example a Bain or Bailey falls to 12.

Mike Linebacker-you would think they still sign a veteran bridge type of starter to cover themselves in the draft. Some players that are still available: Okreke, Miliano, Wagner. They could also look to trade for one. The good news is, this is a good linebacker class and the position translates well from the college to the pro game.

Nickel Slot-this is suppose to be the most important position in CP's scheme. It is more of a big nickel that can play multiple roles. Right now they have either Jalen Thompson, Bell or Bland penciled in. This could be another safety or big corner. If they take a high corner or safety, keep this position in mind.

Starting Caliber 3-4 DL-with Osa now on the 49ers, this has created a big hole to fill. They added a quality depth piece in Ogbonnia who can play either NT or 3-4 DE. He has some starting experience, but they need more of a starting caliber player. We have heard about the team wanting a 4i/5T, this what they are talking about. Think a player like a Chris Canty of Marcus Spears.

Tackle-with both starters back for another season, doesn't prevent them from adding more help at the position. They do have two young tackles they are developing in Thomas and Corn. who they draft last year.

Running back-as of right now, they are counting on their two rookie backs to backup Javonte Williams. That seems kind of scary if Williams would ever go down. They could be faced with a difficult decision if Love falls to 12. Might be too good to pass up and would be the perfect complement to Williams as he is more like a Gibbs type of homerun back.

I think the Cowboys think highly of players like Styles, Bailey, Bain, and Reese. If they are there at 12 the Cowboys would draft them no questions asked. I don’t think those 4 get out of top 10 so I looked at what the Cowboys have done in free agency, started listening to CP, watched top 30 visits/school visits, and most importantly came to the realization how the front office feels about free agency. I think the Cowboys are hunting front 4 players. They want to be deep along the defensive line and will rotate players. I see the Cowboys trying to trade back every chance they get to accumulate more 2nd day picks. They have already meant with several defensive end and defensive tackles in the first, second, and third down range. I think they feel good about their top 3 corners, and like their current safety room. Linebacker is an enigma but I don’t think they will reach for a “Mike”. I don’t think they are looking to pay another player so the rumors of Sweat, Crosby, and the Minnesota end are probably fools gold. The Cowboys are a draft and development team. They brought in these young defensive coaches to develop the young players.

I agree with all this but RB.

Blue and Mafah aren't rookies any more. Cowboys should now by now if they can play or not. If they can't, just grab a FA before the season opener.

And there is no chance Love falls to 12. Cowboys phone will ring if he does and I take the best deal without hesitation.

I never will say no chance, it is unlikely, but due to the position they is a chance he does fall outside the top 10. Hearing Titans and Washington are the two teams that are showing the most interest.

I read that they are unlikely to trade away that 3rd rd pick they acquired in the Osa trade cause they hired a few college coaches that know the players coming out. Pete Carroll when hired by Seattle used this to his advantage.

I know I am in the minority, but still believe they are going to trade up to land one of those few impact starters. They will probably use 20 to do that and receive a 2nd in return.

I do. to love every move they made, but they filled a lot of holes with starters or nice depth pieces. They can go BPA if a player they view as a blue chip on their board falls to them. If not, why not trade back and get some nice draft capital in the 2nd and 3rd with a high pick next year added to our basket. This would take some savvy moves. Not sure the Jones boys are capable of this ,but one can hope.

I think they want to trade up to get the stud but I am hearing it is gonna cost a 2027 first round pick. Cleveland already has plenty of draft picks in 2026. Just keep an eye on those campus visits and 30 day guys. Nobody had Booker on the radar except for Voch. So you never really know. McMillan was their number 1 target and some thought the Cowboys would rather have the Texas kid.

Edge
DT
Outside CB

They've added two starting-level players at S, one of which is going to play some in the slot. I think we will see a lot of 3-safety sets with both Thompson, Locke, and Hooker all on the field.

Bland is an ideal slot because he's a good tackler and has strong ball production.

I don't think it is going to cost a 1st rd pick to move up into that top 8 range. A team like the Chiefs might be willing to move back and still land their tackle, corner or receiver.

I think you got to get ahead of Washington if you want the last blue chip front seven player. Cleveland is the target. Personally I think they should chill but if say Styles is there at 6. The Cowboys would have to consider.

I think the Cowboys are willing to give up that 2027 second round pick. That might catch Cleveland’s eye. I would hate it though.

I don't think they would be willing to move up that high, more in that 8-10 range, where the price would be far less. Move up and then move back from 20 into the 2nd rd.

Don't rule out Delane or Downs.

They still need that big nickel
They will fill every hole before training camp. I am interested in seeing how they do it. Linebacker or two is a red blinking light right now. Styles is probably their number 1 player on their draft board.

You can have any defensive player at 12 not named Bailey or Reese, who are you taking and why?
