LB: Joe Thomas- 73.5 (11th)
Vander Glass- 47.0 not enough snaps to rank
Jaylon- 52.2 (36th)

Big risers from week 1:
Jaylon Smith

Jaylon was 29.6 last week. Huge improvement this week to bring up his season score 23 points. I know the scores don't just add, but that's a rough approximation. Probably mid 70s this week.

Thomas costs nothing, plays like money. Guys like this should get end of season bonuses.

If Jaylon can continue playing well, ILB could be a strength, and a big strength, with LVE coming back and playing to the level he's capable of.

That's 3 quality ILBs. If the ifs. But they're reasonable ifs.

PFF....

It benifits someone's point = awesome
It doesn't benifit someone's point = PFF sucks

People will use click bait articles from journalists but throw out the ideas of PFF that dedicates more resources than practically any other site.

Now I always wondered if they curve based on stats such as strength of schedule. Dallas plays in argurably they worst conference in football while some teams have legitimate teams to deal with
No. They base things based on a per play point system, Good, even or bad. Then total. Opponent doesn't matter on that score though they CAN adjust versus opponent in a separate, advanced tabulation.

PFF's system has some flaws but it is consistent.
Early on they used very cheaply paid film reviewers but that has improved with experience/time.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy their low end service at 40 per year to help.

Any system has weaknesses. PFF's is the away from ball effect a player has or the game changing type play.
The Zeke scoring this week is a great example.
He knocked a couple Falcons out of the line up.
That made them worse and the Dallas offense fare better.
If Zeke is in game and running a few plays woozy he gets marked down while ATL is actually playing without key players and Dallas is scoring.

DT: A. Woods- 51.4 (86th)
Hill- 55.9 (70th)
Ty Craw- 50.5 (90th)
D. Poe- 51.4 (86th)
Gallimore- 53.2 not enough snaps to rank

Ugh.

Bright spot - I think Poe was in the 30s last week. Maybe 39. Up to 51 for the season makes him a riser, probably in the 60s.

We need that arrow going up for Poe. I'm hoping that Fat Boi just needed more preseason work to get in football shape, and will get into the 60s consistently. Reasonable hope for him. He's been 71, 67, 71 the last 3 years.

8mil for Crawford. What a waste. Water under the bridge now, but I'd rather just give the snaps to the young guys. Let Hill and Gallimore develop and get better.

Thomas just has to stay healthy. Like Lee, is very undersized and struggles to stay on the field.
Jaylon is fine as an inside backer with some speed next to him. But he is limited and can be picked on if the scheme doesn't adjust to assist him.
All that said he has been tough as nails, stays on he field and delivers bombs to guys.

LB being a plus is really up to health this year. A returned LVE playing well would go a long way. He's the best athlete at the position.

Nice Xavier Woods the 3rd best safety in the nfl right now?
Ouch for Jaylon and LVE......Terrible grades for what we thought was a strength on our team.
And look at our front 7 as a whole. PPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUU that stinks.
Only Joe Thomas and Maybe Aldon Smith looks apart.

Jaylon was like 29 the first week. Up to 52 means he had a real good game this week. Comparable to Thomas. And I think the reviews on Jaylon bear this out.

Much smaller than Lee.

Really shouldn't be expected to last too long. I hope we get him some relief before be breaks. Having Thomas as a part of the ILB rotation going forward gives us a lot of quality.

Thomas got 70% of snaps game 1, 100% in game 2. That can't go on too long. Gifford didn't get any defensive snaps. I'd hope that he or some other young guy can take some in the next few games.

PFF's grades are exactly like those opinion polls. You know, the ones that ask you to rank your opinion from strongly disagree to strongly agree. You attribute -2 to 2 to those and start adding them up and its literally the same thing.

At least with those you have the opinion of one person. Here you have a mishmash of dozens of opinions.

It's not worth very much.

I couldn’t care less what other players say, I’m sure I could find quotes from other players about different RB’s but who cares? You go ahead and support your stance due to the eye test and what a few other players say, I’ll go ahead and use stats.

I don’t care if Emmitt Smith said zeke is the best running back ever, I care about how many defenders he makes miss, how elusive he is, how fast he is his, how many broken tackles he has, how many yards from the LOS he has and how many times he doesn’t fumble. 2 fumbles out of 3 carries, one that resulted in a TD isn’t a good start.

Great attempt a pathetic defense of zeke. Unfortunately for you, what other players say doesn’t win games or make him the best RB, stats do.
Thats all I read. Speaks volumes smh

RBs get a big knock in grade when they lose a fumble. And you should watch other teams around the league because there are a lot of wrs ballin right now.
35 and 78? Yeah all these wrs are ballin with less catches and yards than our guys lol

The media needs to chill on grading teams/players. It's technically preseason for these guys.
