Team rewards camp standout WR Camden Brown

If they can convince Trigg playing football for money is a good thing he is going to take a WRs spot.

From what I've heard Brown struggles to separate but his fight for the ball is elite. Maybe a poor man's Dez right now who can develop into more?

Anyway, I really want one of these young 1st/2nd-year WRs need to take that #5 WR spot, whether it be Smith, the draft pick; Holden or Brown.

JS Njigba was called too slow prior to that draft… but if you look at his testing (particularly his 3-cone drill time) his change of direction and burst was rare.

A couple years later and he won the offensive player of the year award and was the best receiver in football.

40 yard dash time isn’t everything for a WR. That elite burst and change of direction helps WR’s to get a lot of separation.

I wouldn’t count Brown out because he didn’t run a fast 40. There is a lot that goes into making a good WR.

He had one of, if not the, best 10-yard splits in this class and had a strong vertical. He might not have top-end speed but he's got a lot of burst. He's not really a route runner but if he can develop anything that allows him to separate from DBs, with his size, he'll be an NFL player.

Has the body to play ST, that'll be more telling for his immediate future than anything else. Similar to Jalen Brooks.
Brooks does have a similar game but to me looks like the lankier receiver. Brown is built a little bit more like I'd want him to be with that kind of skillset. Brooks may be a tad bit faster though. But Brown does have burst. And he's physical and goes and grabs contested catches. If he becomes 3 or 4 it would take a little pressure off just having Flournoy as that third receiver. And if Flournoy is a legitimate 3 this year, it would make me feel much better about the depth if this guy steps in and steps up as that fourth receiver.

His performance in our first preseason game has my attention. I want more of that on this team.

He may end up being Macey Brooks... however watching his highlights and seeing his stats he certainly looked like a draftable player, But he ran a 4.6 at his pro day. Maybe we got lucky and benefited from a guy that just runs a crappy 40.
So about the same as Jerry Rice.
