Coaches did their job and got us to the next level

Nothing more can be discussed

Its a win as far as levels go

We cant reasonably discuss this teams players or coaching until after a do or die game. fact.

There is a reason that in sports...a highly competitive industry with lots of money flowing...that teams change in playoffs. Why do Baseball teams get more calculated in the playoffs with stealing bases and suicide squeezes as opposed to regular season?

If all this is real...it makes sense to not show your whole hand until playoffs. Attack me and say its Ludacris...and will say your are too.

I get that its a message board to discuss....but we dont have the correct information to make judgement. Assuming this is all real.

You have to wait and evaluate do or die coaching.

Pretty simple.

Team could be good or bad depending on coaching game plan and ability to adjust. We dont know yet.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree.

I don't think Jerry Jones hired McCarthy to get the Cowboys into the playoffs.

Every Head Coach since 1970 has been hired to succeed in one goal: win championships.

Every other single duty, function, process, project, step, etc., are means to that end.

Head Coaches are given a time limit and those who do not achieve this singular goal, the majority of them, are fired.

If McCarthy does not win a Super Bowl he will eventually be fired or, let's say, his contract will not be extended. He can extend his time limit by reaching certain short term goals such as an appearance in an NFC championship game. However, if a Super Bowl doesn't appear soon after, he will be gone like all the others before him.

The only teams that change once they reach the playoffs are the ones that act like they have been there before. They know when to turn up the intensity.

You seem to have this optimistic hope that the Cowboys will somehow transform themselves a week before the playoffs and not be what their recent history repeatedly indicates. Well, we all have that in degrees. I have witnessed occasions in which the Cowboys have pleasantly shocked me. The 1975 season is the best example I can give.

However, some of that was the result of the character of the franchise at the time, particularly it's leadership. Tom Landry was one heck of a coach. He was a true teacher. Somehow Tex Schram was able to get a #1 and two #2 overall picks in the draft during a four year span of winning seasons. The current management doesn't measure equally but they could sure earn that type of respect if they were to accomplish what might be considered a miracle at this point.

However, I hope you aren't a betting man.

I really believe that the Cowboys are one of the most poorly coached teams in the NFL. We have the talent but our coaches don't have a clue how to get up for the playoffs....

Haven’t seen a suicide squeeze in MLB since at least the 90s.

Not easy beating a very good team on the road in the playoffs. I think we got a shot at Philly this year. But if we lose to the 49ers in San Francisco. It won't be because our QB or bad coaching, but because they're the better team playing at home. The Bills game doesn't shake me up too much. A lot of teams lose badly to other good teams during the regular season. Even happens to eventual super bowl winning teams.

Teams impose what they do well in the post season. They dont change, but they try to execute it better. Everything remains the same but has to be a half a beat better.
