Teams Scared To Play 11 Year Old Basketball Stud

Personally I wouldn't want to be playing him either. He's just a kid and its always going to be in the back of your mind, making sure he doesn't get hurt. An uncomfortable situation to put people in and I can understand where the other teams are coming from.

It has nothing to do with not wanting him to get hurt, it's about not wanting to lose to him.

I remember last year when my son's 8 year old hockey team played in a tournament in Seattle against 9/10 year old rep teams (he was still in initiation hockey where teams are balanced not seeded) we were beating another local team of mostly 10 year olds badly, 4-1 in the second. Their coach called a timeout and said it was embarassing.

At the end of the day, they don't want to lose to a small guy, not the desire of not hurting him.
