Teddy Bridgewater - QB - Jets
NFL.com's Mike Garofolo reports Teddy Bridgewater won't be guaranteed a spot on the Jets' 53-man roster if they select a quarterback at No. 3 overall on Thursday evening.

It goes without saying Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty will be candidates for release. Bridgewater's shaky position was telegraphed by the fact that he landed just $500,000 guaranteed — his signing bonus — in free agency. The Jets' quarterback room probably wouldn't be big enough for the three of Bridgewater, Josh McCown and a highly-touted rookie. Bridgewater can't worry about that now, and has to prove he is healthy before anything else.

If healthy, but is cut to a QB taken at #3, think he goes to a team with a more dire #1 QB on the roster.

I agree but surprisingly he didn't have a strong market at all. In fact, he signed with the Jets more out of desperation. Just think he could be a damn good backup and insurance policy.

I could see a team like Giants, Pitt, or Chargers giving him a back up spot with the intents of grooming him to replace the aging vets at the position those teams have. Unless of course those teams draft what they feel is a rookie replacement.

I like Dak and hope he does well but if we had the chance to grab Teddy or McCown it would be stupid not too with the questions surrounding Dak.

if he's not making the jets #3, i can't see too many giving him a #1 spot.

Meant going to a place that doesn't necessarily have a #1 QB set short or long term. In that he can compete for the spot within the next year or so. Doubt any team will hand him the spot.

McCown is a 38 year old journeyman and "the questions surrounding Dak" are being asked a lot more on this message board than they are at The Star in Frisco.
