Not sure? I know there are banks that will do loans to athletes knowing that they will be able to pay it back no problem after they sign their contract. That happened with Lebron James and his mom before he was drafted.

Agents tend to float loans to their higher profile prospects. I believe he's already signed a shoe deal too, so I'm sure he got cash up front for that.
