Tejano's Final Mock

The more and more you listen to everyone, the more and more you understand that no one has any clues what is going to happen. Will the Guards be gone, will the DT be gone, will the safety be gone, will Tavon Austin be there, how do we feel about DJ Fluker? This draft will be a nail biter in my opinion and we may see people that we like go at 14, 15, 16 and 17 in that order. Is that crazy? I am excited about this draft so this is going to be my final run at making our picks.

I am projecting a trade with the 49ers, 49ers are high on Tank and Jerry gets an extra pick like he wants. Stephen is on record saying there is a 50-50 chance we make a pick at 18. I think we want more picks. We will get from San Francisco 31, 61 and pick 180. We look to get a slight extra value here but San Francisco wants the player and doesn't want all 13 picks.

31. Magnus Hunt SMU DE- (My Surprise pick) Cowboys brought him in on pro day, local visits and worked him out as much as they could. They love him and they know they need to get younger on the DL and with Ware and Spencer as his mentor he will be a great addition. He has a non stop motor and will eventually replace Spencer.

47. DJ Swearinger S South Carolina - We miss out on Reid, a person they value very much but we get a better fit in my opinion. DJ can play both FS and SS and is a great tackler. I think he will get more interceptions in our defense, South Carolina blitzed him a lot but here he will be able to roam and just make plays. (Hard for me here because P Thomas is my pet cat)

61. Brian Winters Kent State G- Some will say this is too early for him but I do not believe so, he is going to be a hot commodity and will be gone early 3rd. He is nasty, can play guard and moves well for his size, he will be a day 1 starter.

80. David Quessenberry San Jose State C/G- We find our center in Quessenberry, he can do it all on the line but he is just a freak of an athlete. He stood out at the Senior bowl and the Cowboys are very interested in this kid. With these two lineman addition, Romo is going to be a happy man and our run game will be much better.

114. Stepfan Taylor Stanford RB - He just makes plays rushed over 1000 yards for the past 3 seasons, a great compliment to Murray and he will be the back we always wanted Felix to be. If Murray goes down, Stepfan could be the every down back which is a huge plus.

151 Jordan Hill Penn State DTB- Jordan falls because this draft is so strong in DL and OL. He is a bargain in the 5th round and he is a Kiffin guy. He is not the talent of Sheldon Richardson but Hill has the motor that Richardson is questioned on daily. Hill has a high motor and will make plays with better coaching and you can never go wrong with a guy that never stops.

180. Michael Williams, TE, Alabama- We need a blocking tight end and he fits the bill. He would be a great addition to our running game getting back on track.

185. Zac Dysert, QB, Miami of Ohio- We pick our Romo junior, he has moxie this kid wants to play football. He falls just because he is a product of a bad QB class. He needs time to develop but he can be solid starter in this league one day. He is my gamble pick that works out. He takes the number 2 QB in 2014.

I looked at the Hunt pick and then double-checked the calendar to make certain that today was not April 1st. Hunt is at the top of many peoples list of most likely to be a bust.

The remainder of your draft is very good!

I have to admit I struggled with that pick, they like high motors, Hunt has that and intangibles. He needs work, but many people see huge upside in him.

I almost went TE from Stanford or Hopkins from Clemson on that pick. I just think they like him more then the fans. You don't invite someone to pro day and National day if you are not interested.

I'm good with everything but 31. I don't want Margus at all.

Id take Justin Hunter/Cyprien/Robert Woods/Manelik Watson if any of those guys are there still over him.

What do you think of Short at that 31 spot? I can see Woods, but Hunter sounds like he will be gone by our pick but he would be a good fit.

I think Hopkins could be the pick, if the hotel situation checks out.

Terrible. Hunt before the 4th is awful IMO.

There will be better players available in the fourth, I'm sure. He's hopeless.

I understand you do not like the pick but many people have him going in the first round, the early second round the latest. No way he makes it to the 4th.

I admit he is being judged more on potential and the upside he will have once he gets good coaching. He is like Poe was last year great combine numbers and has the tools.

This is Kiper's pick.
31. San Francisco 49ers
Margus Hunt, DE, SMU
The 49ers have bet on athletes before and succeeded. Hunt provides depth.

I don't think he will be there in the fourth either, but you can only take players where you think they fit. He is a fourth round pick IMO.

Give me DaMontre Moore at 31 not at 26 year old project.

Exactly, if you are going to trade down, then you should be eyeing players like Damontre Moore & Eric Reid.. I really love Moore as a "football player" both guys will be 21 during the regular season, & I wold much rather have those guys on my team than a guys like Hunt 26-Richardson who will be 25 later this year & Williams will also be 25.

FIRST PICK CHANGED FROM HUNT TO MOORE.

31. Damontre Moore*, DE/OLB, Texas A&M- I agree maybe Hunt was a reach, so I am revising my pick and this pick actually makes sense, I am not doing this because of being pressured just after looking at Wulf top picks and a couple of other top 100 Moore fits better. Some are actually seeing Hunt as a 3-4 end. Moore was once a top 10 lock until the horrible combine numbers. You can not deny what he did on tape with 12.5 sacks in the best conference in college football. He also led the team in tackles. He belongs here.

47. DJ Swearinger S South Carolina - We miss out on Reid, a person they value very much but we get a better fit in my opinion. DJ can play both FS and SS and is a great tackler. Ok that is deserved.

I'm saying Carolina could take Richardson, Saints could take Vaccaro, and Rams could take a guard or Fluker if available. Steelers could take ND tight end..

Not a pass rusher so I don't see him being a Kiffin guy. Probably would have been a solid 3-4 nt in last years defense.
