Telling Signs From Wade...

I'm listening to Wade's press conference on espn 103.3 and I just can not believe my ears.

When asked by a member of the press regarding whether the team would (or has) brought in a guy like Jason Elam to see what he might have left, Wade responds with total surprise.

Not verbatim, but:

'Elam? No. Is he available? Isn't he on a roster somewhere?'

Wade continues, 'Atlanta cut him?'

To which a group of reporters in the background can be heard saying, 'He's on the street!'

Wade says, 'No. We won't bring him in.'

I'm not a Wade-basher, but by God, you are the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys and your kicker is on the fritz.

You mean to tell me you aren't scouring the wire looking at every possible player available?

Does anyone else find this extremely embarrassing?

In fairness, I've watched several atlanta games, and Elam is DONE. He flat out stinks.

But I realize that your coach should probably know these things though, so your point is taken.

I am way over being embarrassed by Wade. I wonder what Joe D's role here is. He's the ST coach, you would think he wouldn't have let it get this bad. First the holder sucks, which kills your kicker's confidence and now the kicker is saying things that indicate he lacks confidence (40-50 yds) even with Romo holding (kiss of death). Save us Joe D!

Does Wade sound upbeat at all or is he still sounding like he is just ready to go fishing?

Why am I even asking?

It's also Wade saying that his focus is on this team and this team only.

Plus, if there's going to be a change at kicker, I'd rather Decamillis be the one spending his time looking at film THEN reporting his findings to HC Wade and GM Jerry.

Either that or he likes what's in house and hasn't bothered to look outside.

Yea!

The head coach should know every washed up street FA available simply off the top of his head.

How embarrassing.

Yeah, a bit of an overreaction here. Isn't that the job of the GM anyways?

Where is that kicking coach that we had? He always had a box of tape full of kicking prospects.

Just listened to it on his press conference and this is a non issue and the original poster is just grasping for something here.

There is plenty of things to call out Wade on, especially the perception he gives to his team and its fans through the media, but this one is a bunch of nothing.

Really, Elam is on the same status as Nick Folk, a good kicker that just got into a slump and couldn't find his way out of it. Now, Buehler is in competition with Nick Folk and I think that he's hungry and ready to show Cowboys he can be the main kicker. I still believe the Cowboys should keep Nick Folk for the time being until the year is up.

laufenberg said last night that wade looks and sounds tired and dejected.

Meaning he knows the gig is up. He sounded awful giggly and not upset after the loss the other day to the chargers.

our GM deemed him to be expendable. Now we draft them... every year.

I thought Parcells ran him out of town.
