When discussing bulk offensive and defensive stats, you must account for opportunity.

Our defense will look better statistically compared to their peers, and the offense will look worse because of the amount of possessions faced. This is the plan with our move the chains offense.

Efficiency stats are much better measures of performance.

Can we have some efficiency in scoring in the red zone.
I like that scoreboard stat that shows we have more points than the other guys.
