And yet we kept hearing about how this game was going to be Tennessee's dress rehearsal. Are they now claiming they didn't do any prep for that?

No one said this was the Titans dress rehersal. In fact its going to be next week against Cleveland, no one has a dress rehersal in week 2 of the preseason

We kept hearing down here that this was their 3rd game and they were treating it as a dress rehearsal because of that.

Well whoever was saying that didn't have the first clue what they were talking about:

Starters To Expect Extensive Play In Cleveland
By Pierce Greenberg August 21, 2009

With the final two preseason games on the horizon, the Titans will start changing the way they approach their opponents with the season opener now three weeks away.

Instead of spending most of their time on self-preparation, this week in Cleveland will be the first time that they actually game plan for a specific opponent.

“This is going to be a big week for us,” Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said. “We’re going to work some people in and settle in some areas.”

Of course, this was written after yesterday's game and the rest of the article was a bunch of baloney about players whining about Dallas game planning for them.

Veteran cornerback Nick Harper stressed the importance of game planning and how it might have played a role in the Dallas game.

“It’s hard to beat a team when you don’t game plan,” Harper said. “We don’t know whether they game planned for us or not, but they did a lot of things that we haven’t seen in camp.”

“So, it’s hard to go out and execute every play when they come out with guns blazing. They threw the playbook at us.”
Translation: "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I don't really disagree with the idea that it's hard to beat a team when you don't game plan. But Tennessee wasn't even competitive in the game. It was a complete arse whoopin'. You can't blame that on game planning.

From NFL.com, it shows it was the 3rd game, but they have 5? I'd assume the first one was a scrimmage, but it's weird to see it showing as a preseason game on the schedule.

P-0 Sun, Aug 09 Buffalo 21-18 W
P-1 Sat, Aug 15 Tampa Bay 27-20 W
P-2 Fri, Aug 21 @ Dallas 10-30 L
P-3 Sat, Aug 29 @ Cleveland 7:30 PM ET
P-4 Thu, Sep 03 Green Bay 8:00 PM ET

Is he suggesting the Cowboys game-planned?

And he thinks they played well for having not game planned? Hmmm

He was just embarassed because of all his pre-game Twitter comments. They got spanked and they were trying to be the "spoilers" at the new stadium.

You are correct - they have 5. Any team that plays in the Hall of Fame game every year will have 5 preseason games instead of the normal 4. This year both Buffalo and Tennessee have 5 games.

does anyone think Kerry Collins can do it 2 years in a row? he had the fewest amount of attemps last yr now they think he is Johnny U! ... Unlike the good ole days the preseason can reveal problems!

I thought our offense was very vanilla. The biggest wrinkle we threw in there was that screen that Felix took 42 yards.

If that's "gameplanning", Garrett should be fired right now. The Titans' whining is ridiculous.

Also, way to backpedal from your pre-game trash talk, Bulluck.

:laugh2:

Not only that, they played their starters for a full half. You don't do that if you're treating it as a normal pre-season game.

The Titans had the ball less than 10 mins in the first half and their back-ups were in on defense in the 2nd quarter. This was not the Titans dress rehearsal no matter how much you people wanted it to be. Cleveland will be.....

Whats even funnier is when Collins and the 1st team left the game the Titans were winning, which meant nothing.

it meant nothing about the titans, but it did mean something about the cowboys special teams and penalty problems. which is a problem we have had for years. the penalties against us were far more threatening than the titans ever were.

And 53 seconds later, they were losing again.

They subbed out some of their secondary, that's it and it was on that last minute drive. However, it was the linebackers and defensive lineman that Felix made look stoooopid. Their secondary came across to make the tackle.

The Titans had the ball less than 10 minutes because they were going 3 and out. Don't try to make excuses for them. They were handled completely in the first half.

Like someone else said, Denver whined about the same thing and we heard the same thing also in 2007 but for the defensive side of the ball.

It points to the fact that we have something special here.

Actually wrong, the whole secondary was back -ups,The DL was Dave Ball, Kevin Vickerson, Jonathon Haye and Willams Hayes on the DL and rookie Gerald McGrath and Ryan Fowler at LB....

Those are all back-ups....

Hell on the Titans last few offensive drives of the first half they had their 3rd string RB in there, Javon Ringer and Chris Johnson got all of 3 carries.

That may have to do with the Titans' inability (1) to stop the Dallas offense and (2) to get any first downs.

22-8 in terms of time of possession shows absolute domination by one team.

Dude stop all the BS. Yes it was a preseason game but your STARTERS were manhandled throughout the entire first half. Our starting O consistently moved the ball down the field and our starting D allowed your O absolutely nothing. Stop frontin, it is what it is!!!!!! Now move on....

Did Vince Young just throw his teammates under the bus with that quote?

This guy is such an utter bust. He's an awful QB and teammate.
