Terence Newman Retires

Potential HOFer, given his productivity and performance up until he turned 39!

Don't blame him for not joining our coaching staff, but why is D. Ware coaching in Denver...

All the best to Newman. Cutting him and drafting Claiborne was a big mistake in hindsight.

Is he coaching?

I think Ware spends time here and Denver helping out the young guys. I don’t think he is an official coach on either team unless something changed.

I was on my honeymoon when he was drafted in 2003. Remember slipping away to the hotel bar to see who we drafted. His career turned out better and lasted MUCH longer than that stupid marriage.

Shoulda drafted Suggs.

He shut down a lot of big time receivers in his prime, then he got the injury bug for a bit. Great player and fine wine aficionado....

Interesting. Wasnt he planning on playing this season for one last hurrah? Wonder what changed his mind? I saw something about joining the coaching staff. I suppose that could be a persuasive enough opportunity.

Once had a season where he did not allow one TD all season while in a Cowboys uniform. Salute!!! Pretty good career Terrance.

never forget the 3 INT game on the road against the skins. Unfortunately I also remember Brad Sham saying "Hello Newman" about two hundred times that day. Brad Sham is great but he takes something and wears it out by saying over and over. Nowadays it's "Walk the Dog". Save It Sham. Mix in a salad sometimes too.

Couldn't agree more. I used to hunt down highlights with the calls of the game instead of the national TV calls, that got old real fast! Haven't listened to it in years.
