I'm a Cowboys homer, but at the same time, I am a football lover and I watch every game I get the chance to on Sunday ticket. I just want to say, from the beginning of this season, Terence Newman is the best cornerback in the NFL. There is simply no one else playing on the same level. I knew with a real pass rush and a decent RCB he would shine, and he has.

Teams can't even make attempts at him most of the time because of the blanket he's putting on guys. They're having to throw at Henry, just because he gives them a minor opening, which usually just ends with him picking them off or breaking them up anyway.

I can easily see Newman, Henry, and Roy all in Hawaii, along with probably Glover and maybe Bradie James if he keeps it up with the sacks and tackles.

it's no suprise TNew is doing very well with a pass-rush, Champ Bailey got torched last year when the pass-rush wasn't there, all corners need it and with the rule changes, it's a must

Some here think Tnew is not playing well....

As Adam has factually stated ad nauseaum as validated by my eyes. Tnew is bordering All Pro status. Playing great.....

He doesnt get mentioned because he doesnt have to. You dont make mistakes, you dont get passed on, you dont get your name called

Newman has defitnely established himself has one of the top corners in the NFL but u never hear about that. Thats ok though if other teams fail to notice but i bet u they know what Newman is doin. Also people from the media last year didnt know he was playing with a injury last year and u know what that says a lot bout Newman not using the injury as an excuse.

the one time they did try to throw to his man he made a PICTURE PERFECT breakup of the pass. It was so pretty, I heard an Indian somewhere cry...

FWIW, Brad Sham said today he thought Newman deserved to make the Pro Bowl if he keeps playing like this.

I like the postion and played it in my insignificant little football career, so I really watch it when I see other games around the league, and it seems like I've seen every big-name corner get beat for a least a few big plays. Sheppard, Hall, Bailey (currently being torched), Woodson... Bly is hurt, I think...

It's a very hard position for us regular fans to evaluate, but it's uncanny how teams do not throw at Newman... So much so that it can't be by chance this far into the year. I can only assume that teams are seeing things on the game film and target other guys.

BTW, I hope this post wasn't "Stalinist" in any way. ;)

T-New is shutting down his side of the field. That is part of the reason Henry has three INTs.

TNew doesn't get the recognition by the media because they don't throw his way very often, therefore very few INT's, so no press coverage. But the coaches and players know, he'll get the PB votes from them.

What's going to hurt Newman is the fact that teams don't throw at his way. Thus, he doesn't get the opportunity to make INT's and pass deflections, which is what voters look at way too much.

Plus, he's pretty soft spoken. Guys like DeAngelo Hall get torched a lot, but because they talk trash everybody thinks they are great.

Rich......

So are you one of those that keeps changing the channel on every play stoppage? Do you know that it pisses everyone off, especially if you invite someone over to watch the Cowboys.

Sorry to vent, but this has happen to me more than once. I know I could get the ticket myself, but I don't see a reason for six of us paying the price of the ticket, when we are all Cowboy fans.

I too was critical of Newman and the entire secondary last year when we gave up more big plays than any Boys team I had seen...without a doubt Newman and Roy are Pro Bowlers and playing great.

Newman rarely gets tested but responds when called on and Roy ( aside from the 4th qtr of that Monday night game-I still cant talk about it- Im not emotionally ready) is playing the best ball of his career-he looks lighter and quicker to the ball.
the future is bright boys.

Outside of Sheldon Brown with Philly, I can't think of an NFC CB playing at the same level as our 2 guys. Lito Sheppard better not even be able to buy a ticket to Hawaii this year.
