They should have drafted a LT last year and then keeping steele at RT would make sense. But they drafted a RT moved him to LT, where he failed miserably and had to be benched. So now we have a healthier steele who played better down the stretch and gets a second offseason post injury and a 1st round pick who should be playing RT...and a LG who can also dominate at LT. Lets see how this unfolds.
Here we go again, first of all,
let's let the guitar thing play out lots of teams draft guys and move them to a different position it happened with the Manster you know Randy White mostly played special teams his 1st 2 years played a different position, they moved him he became a Hall of Famer, we played Tyler Smith that left tackle because of injuries he was really drafted to be a left guard.. he did pretty well out there but he's a lot better at left guard..
how about we let the coaches coach the GM the Scouts everybody do their job because I don't see your NFL card carrying credentials...
I'm going to allow this coaching staff especially the new coaching staff further develop Guyton before we call this a bad move... This is not the only team that does this this is pretty common in the NFL especially with offense and defensive lineman, but I see it all the time where you have tweeners like a small linebacker that in the NFL even though he was great at college at being a linebacker, he's moved to safety!!
I've seen really good corners move to safety I've seen safeties move to corners. It goes on and on there's a such thing as position flex and sometimes they have a vision for somebody when they draft him and know he may need to be moved
I mean people around here are still blaming the coaching staff for not using Parsons as a full time outside linebacker, more as a off ball linebacker instead of a defensive end, because he said he's too small ,are you serious? everybody knows he's one of the best pass rushers in the league, he knows he's one of the best pass rushers in the league, he wants to be paid like a pass rusher, but hey the fans know BETTER! He is an outside linebacker hybrid but he's one of those that rushed the passer more, which is very normal.
I mean we even see running backs that come in that are pretty big they were really successful at a small college and they're turned into a full back isn't that crazy I mean this is what coaches and scouts are supposed to do you find really good talent but if you say that they look better at one position that's what you do you put them there and then you develop them there bottom line.
And yes, a first round pick sometimes you expect them to be good right out of the box but that's not how it works all the time and sometimes the word development needs to happen they need to be taught, and they need to learn their craft better.
And I'm no way shape or form saying he will be a great left tackle he may end up moved back the right tackle I'm saying you all need to stop acting like professionals in here that your eye says you know better and I'm saying that I think professionals see that he can still be developed as a left tackle and at worse he'll be moved to right tackle... they're going to give him a shot a second training camp with a 2nd offseason of weight training and maybe being just a little bit more comfortable this year not being looked at as a first round pick thrown into the fire..
