My points is that we dont need to spend our first rounder on a backup NT, but how about if cody value goes up now for some team to draft him before we draft. So, a good player is there when we draft.

Terrence Cody-DL- Player Mar. 10 - 1:36 pm et

Alabama NT Terrence Cody reportedly weighed in at 6'4/348 at the Crimson Tide's Wednesday Pro Day.

Since weighing 370 at the Senior Bowl, Cody has dropped an impressive 22 pounds. He's shed six lbs. since the Combine, and still benched 225 pounds a whopping 32 times on Wednesday. Cody remains squarely in the first-round mix for a league placing more emphasis on nose tackles than ever.

If he loses five more pounds he will be a top 5 pick and out of our range.

Joe, call him up and tell the fat blob to eat more.

Hos says he has to be 330, he wants the kid to starve to death!

The fact that he benched 32 is huge for him, gotta be some muscle in that flub somewhere. But "WHOPPING"? Really, whopping?

At this point I'm certainly willing to consider him at 27, but we've already got a pretty good NT, so you willing to spend a 1st on a roleplayer?

Why is he just now deciding to lose the weight? It seems like he might be one of those players that only gets in shape when a contract is coming up. I still remember reading stories about Jonathon Sullivan. He had a severe weight problem and a reporter saw him at a buffet with food piled high on his plate. It wouldn't surprise me if this ended up happening to Cody.

Weight Clause should help with that.

The thing about Cody is I don't think it was ever a problem. I don't think they cared as long as he produced.

pretty good? PRETTY GOOD?
HE IS THE ALL-PRO DT.

He is the best in the game, no I don't consider replacing him with anyone.

Ever hear about this guy named Peyton Manning, 4 time league MVP I heard the Colts are going to move him to FB and draft Tim Tebow to replace him, because they always wanted a QB who could run the ball.

Makes as much sense as that, who the holy hell cares if Ratliff doesn't weigh 6 tons he is better than anyone else in the NFL at his position.

It's called understatement, you should try it sometime. ;)

i want my 1st rd pick to be a potential starter down the road,it is difficult to see that with ratliff being a perennial pro-bowler for us.

Good news. I have always thought that he would be gone before we picked at 59 and we really don't need him at 27 so if he could slide in front of us and have someone else that we need a bit more slide to us then that much the better.

Definitely a second rd pick now.

Depending on who the Cowboys take in the 1st rd, they may take Cody in the 2nd.

That would be nice. :)

Cody in the 2nd is o.k. and a risk worth taking, IMO.

But I think he'll be gone by our 2nd rounder anyway.

That's my worry about a kid like this. The moment he's signed his deal will he continue to try and work on being strong and in shape or will he go right back to the same lax attitude, he's apparently had up until this point, where he just relies on his God given talent rather than trying to work hard to be great.

I just invision another guy here who will wow people as 'unblockable' for about 8 plays a game and then he'll be taking plays off, or on the sideline, the majority of the rest of the game cause he simply won't be in shape, or care to be, to do anything else.

Cody will be a dominant player if he goes to the right situation. I like Rat playing right where he is though.

Not to mention he's probably doing 1/4 reps because he barely has to bend his elbows before the bar is hitting his man-boobs.

32 reps was better than I expected. Unless you're play a position where the guys are normally weighing less than 260, then the bench press has less to do with strength and more to do with endurance, which is going to be Cody's biggest issue.

The thing is though is that his weight has never really affected his play.

It's a well known fact you want Cody to starve to death Hos, you just have no mercy for a man just trying to keep from shriveling up to nothing. We all know this.
