Say what you want about the guy but if he has proven anything it's that he can beat 1 on 1 coverage like it's nothing AND he makes BIG PLAYS in BIG GAMES.

When all things get back to normal he is really a top tier #2 WR and can clearly get you by as a #1 when a team has to focus on our TE's and Midget receivers.

The fact is Williams is a very good receiver. He may not ever be a true #1 but he can absolutely get you through half a season without Dez.

He's not physical like Dez (who is?) and he drops his share of balls, but he's a good receiver who can make plays.

And I'm starting to think Weeden has a pretty good rapport with him. I remember the blowout game against the Colts when Weeden came in and threw a strike to Williams.

TWill will be fine as the #1 until Dez returns. Street made a decent catch for a 1st down, though he was wide open to catch it. Then nothing from him after that. But the offense was having a bad day anyway. So was it Street, or just a bad game all together for everyone or both.
Thing is moving forward, can Linehan put together a good game plan knowing that the opposing teams are putting together a game plan too.
This is where the OL really more so than ever, live up to their reputation and last years performance. Not only to establish a running game, but to protest Weeden to give him time to throw.

He doesn't get a lot of separation unless it's on a fly route. (even then he doesn't always) If he did, he would be a lot more dangerous.

People keep picking him apart about separation, physicality, body catching and any other thing they can think of to nit pick.

TWill just goes out and makes plays and gets TDs.

Sometimes people should be thankful for what they have instead of thinking everything has to be better.

TWILL can handle the #1 spot just fine.....I think the biggest problem, is WHO will step up and be the #2 WR. Can Street or Butler step up and force defenses to role coverage their way?

Now that TWILL is the #1WR....Its the #2 position that is the real problem.

I'm not sure that he's a true #1 in this league in the long term, but can he hold down the fort until Dez is back? Absolutely. He's also a really nice #2 wideout.

All T Will does its make plays. He just has a knack for it, I don't think you can teach it or coach it.

BTW - Sturm completely nailed it easier in the week when he predicted Beasley might struggle against Philly's press coverage. I forgot who he was matched up with but he's physical and Cole has problems with guys like that. Expect him to have better games moving forward.

Liked seeing all the newer players on the field. Street, new guy from Oakland. If we can hold the ship till our stars return, we will have gained a lot of experience for guys who may not have seen the field otherwise. Also great to see our ST do a Philly and score.... Eagles were great at that last year, and to get one
against them to add to the final score was excellent.

There are so called fans out there that need to find fault with every player and / or anything this team does or does not do. Are they real fans, or are they that way with everything in life. doesn't matter.
It's like having a house, 2 new cars, a boat, great healthy happy family. But you don't have perfect yard, so you complain about the one weed you can't kill. I would water that weed and smile.

TWill makes plays, and some fans don't like him.....:banghead:

Harper was not a number one receiver but was a good combo with Irvin ....... and just like that team the real number 2 receiver is a TE.

Not true. He's pretty good on that deep in. But i think teams will begin to sit on that route more, so they'll have to mix it up some.
