The kid can straight-up BALL!!!!!!!!!!! Sure, he came from Division 1-AA, but his numbers are absolutely ridiculous. The ALL-TIME NCAA LEADER (all divisions) in receptions and yards - 394 catches, 5220 yards, 51 TD's. I don't care what level of college bal you play................that's just a big time player folks. I think he takes Hurd's spot. My projected WR depth chart:

1. Austin
2a. Williams
2b. Bryant
4. Ogletree
5. Hudgins

Well lets hope he can ball well enough to make tackles. If he can tackle people he might make this team. If not than he will be on the practice squad at best.

I was a little surprised to see we were able to get two relatively decent UDFA WRs in Hudgins and Verran Tucker. Most of the time high priority free agents like these two tend to gravitate where they will have a chance.

Unless we loosen up the WR position, they will both be five deep behind Austin, Williams, Bryant, Crayton and Ogletree.

He is probably gone. I hope we can get a player for player trade out of him.

They need to trade Crayton and a 3 next year to St. Louis for Atogwe. Gives Bradford a pretty reliable WR and gives the 'Boys a LEGITAMTE play-making FS.

Or they can wait until June 1 and sign Atogwe when he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

I would like some solid backup linemen.

That is pretty impressive. I will be sure to keep an eye out for him. Thanks for the info.

I guess they could just trade Crayton for Atogwe (sp?) straight up. I mean if they are just going to let him walk, why not get a reliable 3rd WR for a young QB.

About just waiting for June...well again if you want to get rid of Crayton, make it happen now and not get in a bidding war with other teams later for Atogwe...although that may still happen even if you trade for him...but at least you would get him in and let him know you would work on a contract.

One other thing to consider is maybe they don't want to work on a huge contract and atogwe might want a huge on. We have to worry about the rooks and miles right now before we start worrying about another safety vet wanting to be paid like one of, if not the, top safeties in the game which might be what Atogwe and his agent want.

Time will tell I guess.

He is not fast but runs great routes and hands

Sounds like a guy that Arizona drafted a few years ago.................that NOW plays for the Ravens. I just read the post about the SI article on AOA, and Bill Polian (yes, THAT Bill Polian) said something that really got me thinking. His actual quote was this -

"He's (AOA) very interesting," says Indianapolis draft czar Bill Polian. "We're not afraid of small-school guys. At Buffalo we took Andre Reed [from Division II Kutztown]. And a couple of years ago we took [Division III receiver] Pierre Garçon. If you dominate at that level, you can play here."

If Polian thinks that, his track record has pretty much proved him right.

Why??? I don't think Atogwe will be back with the Rams, and I don't think they can trade him at this point, didn't he NOT sign his tender, he'll be a free agent in June...

Best trade value for Crayton is the bears, they're thin at receiver

They will have to get him to agree to a contract either way. If you pay him what the Rams will have to pay him currently it will cost you around 9 million dollars.

You're right. I completely forgot that he hasn't (and apparently has no intention of doing so) signed his tender offer. My bad. Yes, the Bears could definitely use him.

Yeah im on board with Alan Ball until AOA is ready. Even bring in Darren Sharper for a year if you have to.

The coaches HAVE to be excited to coach that kid.

Lets not forget about Michael Hamlin too.

I'll believe that when I see it. We were rumored to move four or five veterans and nothing materialized.

I would offer him up to the Rams immediately. I cannot believe they did not do more than take Gilyard to give Bradford someone reliable.

Follow the money. They aren't going to pay him to be burried that far on the depth chart.

Plus he is a progress stopper for 2 guys with more upside. They want to get Dez and Ogletree on the field this year.

Personally I hope they keep him because this is Roys last year in Dallas unless he restructures his deal.

ELON, N.C. -- Terrell Hudgins, the most prolific pass-catcher in the history of NCAA Division I football, has agreed to sign a rookie free agent contract with the National Football League's Dallas Cowboys. He becomes the second Elon player to continue his career in the NFL in the last four seasons, joining Chad Nkang who played two seasons for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Hudgins will travel to Dallas at the end of the week and will participate in a rookie minicamp this weekend.

"All I asked for was to just have the opportunity to get a shot in the NFL," said Hudgins. "Now I have one and it is with a great organization in Dallas. I'm excited to go to Dallas. They have a tradition of great receivers and I want to be mentioned in the same sentence as them. I'm going to do whatever it takes to get on the field and be mentioned along side of guys like Michael Irvin."

In 2009, Hudgins led Elon to a 9-3 overall record and its first-ever appearance in the FCS playoffs on his way to finishing as the runner-up for the 2009 Walter Payton Award which is presented to the top offensive player at the Football Championship Subdivision level. Along the way the standout receiver caught a FCS-record 123 passes for a Southern Conference-record 1,633 yards. He led the nation in receiving yards per game (136.1) and receptions per game (10.3) this season. He picked up one SoCon Player of the Week accolade and was named a first-team All-SoCon member by both the coaches and media in 2009. Hudgins also collected two national player of the week honors during the campaign. He was named to All-America teams by the American Football Coaches Association, The Associated Press and the Walter Camp Football Foundation and The Sports Network.
Added Elon head coach Pete Lembo, "Terrell had a great college career, but more importantly, he is a great person. He contributed immensely to our university both on and off the field over the last four years. I am very happy that he is getting an opportunity to continue his playing career. One of Elon's favorite players is getting a shot with one of America's favorite teams."

Hudgins concluded his career with the Phoenix as the holder of 10 NCAA records, including nine set during the 2009 season. Four of the records were held by the legendary Jerry Rice who played at Mississippi Valley State from 1981-84. He also holds numerous Elon and SoCon marks.

During his four seasons in the maroon and gold, Hudgins collected first-team all-league honors from the SoCon's coaches three times and from the league's media all four years. He was named the SoCon Player of the Week on three occasions and the league's player of the month twice. Hudgins was a three-time first-team member of the Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America Team, a two-time AP All-American and a two-time first-team All-America pick by The Sports Network.

Hudgins twice led the nation in both receptions per game and receiving yards per game. As a sophomore in 2007, Hudgins averaged 10.6 catches per contest and 134.0 receiving yards per outing.

In 2007, Hudgins was named Elon's team MVP and was the recipient of the Stein H. Basnight Award as the school's top male athlete.
