Terrell Owens In "Reasonable Cause" Testing Program

Every player gets tested in the NFL for roids and/or drugs, and all this is saying is that T.O. is one of those players. Uh, DUH he is in the NFL. This is more BSPN just because T.O.'s name is brought up.

All I needed to see ..... this is much ado about nothing other than the "league" not believing that a 34 year old man can be built like him cleanly.

Goodell: Why weren't you there?
T.O: I was to busy teaching Stanback how to play like me.

hey, i can wish right?

I just knew he would destroy the team.... that Team Obliterator.... dam him....

:laugh2:

oh i didn't know they bother with it in june. so is this a big deal or not?
In June is when they would be cycling off juice most likely if they are on it.

No, it isn't a big deal. It's sort of the same as refusing to take a breathalizer test in the field. If you refuse they place you under arrest and administer a blood test. They aren't saying he is guilty, just that he's under scrutiny for evasion.

Owens didn't miss a test that he knew about. The NFL wanted to test him (part of the random testing program) but couldn't reach him by phone to set up the test that day.

The only thing he's guilty of is not making sure the NFL can reach him at all times.

Thank you .....

Mosely on ESPN now and they're talking horses so they don't seem terribly concerned right now. Galloway may have something next hour.

Seems like a quick way to take the focus off of Kaczur and the Pats.

You know Skip Bayless will be on it like stink on crap tomorrow.

a good question here is why, if the primary number is Rosenhaus', didn't his agent contact him immediately?

man-I feared the worst when I read the title of this thread.

ok. Well now owens will be the topic of every discussion.

This team is going to be the traveling circus that jerry loves.

The whole season is going to be filled with nonsense.

I hope we win.

I don't read this as he didn't report for a known test. The league can randomly check players. They are required to be 'reachable' by keeping the league informed of their phone numbers and address. If you move or change a number it is your responsibility to keep the league posted of any changes.

My suspicion is he got selected randomly and they couldn't get him. They then escalated and they will treat this as purposeful evasion. Now he's caught in the snare and likely won't get out for a year or so. Depends on their level of suspicion. To be fair they have guys trying to avoid testing until they know they are clean. The league has to treat everyone the same way. I don't believe for an instant that TO is using anything.

Dang, 20 posts while I was typing this one. Sorry. Same as what Adam said.

The bottom line,

Owens has since passed a test for performance enhancers, the sources said, adding that he has never had a positive test for any illegal substance.

I don't think they treat this as a "purposeful" evasion -- I think they see it as it is, TO couldn't be contacted. I expect that any player who misses is subject to more testing. Keep in mind the league could have suspended or fined him which they reportedly didn't.

TO is a lot of things but as you note, he's no steroid user. Dude worships his body.
