Owens gets a lot of hate around here for some reason... he's only one of the best wide outs to ever put on cleats and 1st ballot hall of famer.

What's the reason?

Is the guy's personality and being a locker room cancer seriously forgotten already?

I understand it's been 7 years, but wow. This guy is just as iconic for his controversies as his play. That's not just with the Cowboys, that's also with the Eagles and 49ers.

I must of missed his Bat Signal beaming his number over AT&T.

I don't have anything against guys with personality.

Greg Ellis whined and moaned his way through quite a few years in Dallas and no one hates him.

Personally, I'm glad Owens' chances of playing again are practically nil. Owens was named as a nominee for 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame finalist consideration. I can finally see for myself whether Owens highly qualified career numbers will not be enough for him to get into the Hall as a first-ballot nominee as I predicted many times in the past.

Greg Ellis isn't prolific a player as Owens. A good player with some great years, but it's not as though any Dallas fan really ever mentions him.

Simple fact is, Owens had a terrible personality and burned bridges with the 49ers, Eagles, and Cowboys. Romo and Witten didn't even want to be around Owens around the end of 08, it was getting that bad. He was a cancer.

He's only recently started to take blame for the things he did and said throughout his career. Had a great career, but I don't miss him being here.

I think the big difference being that Greg Ellis was a whiner and complained but didn't try to divide the team.

Owens always seemed to try and divide his teams locker room. I'm not sure that was quite the same case in Dallas, I do feel like a lot of things were way blown out of proportion in Dallas simply because it was Owens who was involved, but he definitely was, and tried to be, a divisive person in San Fran and Philly.

Owens' selfishness continued to haunt him late in his career (and in situations like now).
If he were a vet that was known as a good locker room guy and a leader, he'd have gotten jobs at some point.
He's a known drama queen and diva, so why would a team want to potentially totally mess up a locker room to bring him in when he isn't anywhere near an elite wideout anymore?

I don't think anyone misses him, but he was a heck of a player. I know I sure had a lot of fun watching the team go 13-3 that year and ultimately, it's about entertainment - especially when the Superbowl isn't a realistic possibility.

Greg Ellis didn't look for the camera, either.

If you're gonna compare at least use Randy Moss................
