I'm really getting sick and tired of him being out there. That dropped pass was absolutely inexcusable. Yes, I know - he's a DB, that's why he isn't a WR. That's ridiculous - he is a DB in the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE, FOLKS. The fact is that he left points on the field by not picking that pass.

It seems like ever since he has been here, even in blanketing players, he just never intercepts the ball. He might get one here or there, but he is no Deangelo Hall. Now that's a DB - INTs on ESPN all the time. But not Newman.

I think it's time to call it like it is - bust. We spent a top 10 pick on this guy and could have had a STUD like Terrell Suggs (aka - Suggsy), or Byron Leftwich, and we took someone who makes TO look like he bathes in Stickem.

Just want to get your thoughts on this - I know it was a win, but I just think we can do better here. I am all for putting Reeves at starter and keeping Newman only in the dime and maybe the nickel. I read everywhere on this board about how great we are, but seriously, we barely squeaked by after that drop. So frustrating.:bang2::bang2:

I would rather have a DB the defends passes, yeah a pick would have been nice but he is a damn good corner and isn't afraid to play the run. I could see him playing FS role towards the end of his career

Him taking that ball back to the house would've given him a spot in Hawaii, he just needs to make a couple of plays (even if they are gimme picks for TDs) so the not so knowledgable football fan, will vote for him to go the pro bowl.

He deserves a lot of respect, guys don't throw his way often, and man he is tough against the run. That extra weight he put on after his rookie season really has helped us in run support.

I was pretty upset that Newman didnt pick that one off myself..I was tellin my bro that in order for him to go to the Pro Bowl and get the respect he deserves he has to make plays on national TV. If he would of made that Pick he would of probably took it to the house and that would of been the second pick he had on National TV( Clutch one VS. Bills). I think that alone would of been enough to put him into the Pro Bowl.

It never seems to go right for Newman but I would still rather have him than any other corner in the NFL.

Yeah - that was cool. I made this post because it doesn't seem like a win without some complaining. Newman is one of if not my favorite player. And I am picking on him, but I won't lie - the only weakness he has is lack of ball skills - he just isn't a great INT machine.

Which is fine by me, considering he is dominant at everything else.
