In your opinion do you guys see him back on this team next year and if so what would his role be? Also, while watching the Playoffs last year I had an idea of maybe using Glenn as a Wes Welker type of slot receiver. His hands and quickness in the slot would be lethal. He is about the same size as Welker, even though their body make up is quite different. Not sure if his body can take the pounding though, espcially coming off the knee injury. Anyway What you guys think?

I really don't know, we might keep him around, unless we get a WOW WR, or somebody who can start immediately, then i think we keep him.

then again, his knee, will he need surgery?.....if he can play play great, and we don't get a Starting caliber WR, keep him, other than that, let him go, and lets see what Stanback or Austin gots, or Lets get my boy James Hardy

Not if he looks anything like he did at the end of last season.

Glenn does not use his quickness in the same manner as Welker. Welker approaches playing the slot like he was returning punts. Glenn is more precise in his route running. He can play in the slot on occasion, but I don't expect the same type of results as the Patriots get with Welker. Plus it is better to get every receiver in the slot to take advantage of their different strengths such as TO's size. Glenn is also good on the outside, so it isn't as if he would be wasted split out wide.

After all that I don't see Glenn in Dallas this season. If he is I would not count on him to last the whole season and be ready to truly contribute come playoff time. If he does great, but Dallas should be prepared for the worst case scenario of not having Glenn.

I have always liked Glenn - even back in the OSU days but I think it may be time to move on.

If it is going to cost us the same amount to keep him, as release him, then it might be worth our while (I thought I read somewhere that it was almost a wash from a money standpoint?. Otherwise, lets get the youngsters more involved.

It is my understanding that his knees are messed up and it is doubtful he can be relied upon anymore. Glenn is not a slot WR. Dallas needs to get younger, faster and better at that position now or a great opportunity will be wasted.

If Glenn can't go and we don't draft a wr early then it will be Hurd not Austin or Stanback that will take his spot. Hurd is a much better wr than those two.

Actually for the slot receiver, I would be happy with Miles Austin, because of his speed, it's his hands that scare me.

..to see what is happening for Glenn right now.

Unfortunately, the team has known about Glenn's knee problems since way back in 2006 and they still gave him his bonus in 2007 prior to TC and then the wheels fell off.

The fact that they kept him on the active roster and never went out and actively looked at replacing him on the roster at all was admirable. Especially when it happened before the seson started and there was time to make a trade or bring in somebody who had been released.

I don't think Dallas will ride that horse again with Glenn. They have to move on and do what is best for the team at this point, not what is best for Glenn, meaning continue to include him in their plans for 2008 as a WR and giving him a roster spot by default.

Now..I don't think any hard decisions are due unless his contract calls for a roster bonus clause like TO's does in the Spring here.

That maybe the turning point of having to release him to avoid that. Being as tight to the cap as we are and probably looking to sign some vets that might still be cut and wanting them..especially if they are in the area of WR, CB or RB that can help us..

..makes Glenn expendable as the first to be released to make room.

If it means that..I think we could re-sign him later if he is willing to sign a one yr. deal at the minimum with incentives based on him being able to play and contribute.

Otherwise, I think he's done.

And that's sad. He would have been great last year for us. If he had been here and TO had gone down, we might have rode out that whole situation of the offense bogging down in December with better results.

Dallas can't afford to see that happen again.

If working as hard as he can to return, Glenn is the guy who can do it. We just can't take the chance to wait and see. Jerry owes it to the Cowboys & their fans & Romo to draft a WR who eventually produces well enough to force teams to account for him so our passing game doesn't suffer if TO goes down. My first choice is James Hardy or Malcoln Kelly; also read where Jason Garrett liked Early Doucet. Don't want Manningham, got questions about Sweed & Cal's Jackson. I know it's risky to draft a WR high, but if the Cowboys didn't do just that back in 88, the Cowboys wouldn't have been the Triplets cause w/o Michael Irvin we probably don't win 3 SBs.

I think it's 50/50 that he returns next year. The real issue is wether or not he would be healthy enough to play in the playoffs. He might be good to go in Sept. but we need him in January. Looking at it in that perspective, is it worth the rist of tying up another roster spot all year like we did last year or not?

I am all for giving Glenn a look in training camp to see how he looks and decide from there.

If Glenn doesn't get re-injured in Camp he will be back next year no doubt even if we draft a WR.

I think Jerry really wants him back, and I understand completely. A healthy Glenn gives our Offense a whole new dimension. I just don't know whether I believe he can return 100% or not. I really like the guy. He has great hands and gives his all every play. Last year I kept thinking he'd make it back and our Offense would be unstoppable. It just never happened. I don't think we can hold a roster spot again if he's not 100%.

I would tend to agree, although he'll always be one of my favorites.

I think he WILL be back. Just a hunch, but he came back at the end of last year so he should be healthy enough to contribute at the high level that he did 2 years ago.
