Does anyone know if Terry Glenn is participating in the off season conditioning program? I know he's a veteran and he usually doesn't attend until the mandatory stuff, but if he's serious about trying to play without the microfracture surgery shouldn't he be at the facility doing everything he can to get his knee and quad stronger

I think Jerry floating a 1st rounder for a vet, we all know the names, answers your question.

Glenn is done.

Just about every time I write Terry Glenn off, Jerry or someone else makes a comment about him being a help next year.

I know Dallas is going to try to make themselves look like they don't have a gaping hole at receiver, but at the same time, everyone knows you can't completely count on Glenn...

Furthermore, if you do bring in another legitimate veteran to play opposite TO, do you make Glenn the fourth receiver. Remember, he can't help you on special teams either.

So I can't help but feel like this Terry Glenn thing isn't going to work out. I'm sure he'll try to come back. But I can't really see him making it through camp without getting more swelling and all of those things.

Two posts?

Glenn is too old and banged up to play.

(hmm. tonight seems to hold an abundance of Zoners with 2 posts to their credit.)

Agreed, I think he ended his career selling out for a super bowl run last year, and I admire him for that, but I think he's done.

There is NO doubt in my mind he is there. That's why Jerry said "I wouldn't rule out Terry Glenn" during the 2nd Desperados game, televised earlier this year on ESPN. Remember, TG is a hard worker!!

I think he very well could play in 2008. I'd be surprised if he did though, and I don't think he's a #2 any more.

If he could come back, and we do get Roy Williams in some way, wouldn't this look good at certain times:

Id put him at 50-50 at this point. HE didnt play last year and he was rehabbing. Its entirely possible that he will be able to rehab his way back completely. We have heard of no further injuries.

I certainly wouldnt mind.

That has also been my belief, but not only this off-season but like the last 3 in a row.

Personally, I don't think he's on the field, because his commitment is not. Simple as that. And coincidentally, that all started the day he was moved to #2 when we signed TO. Yep, coincidence.

Truly surprised he hasn't requested a deal to Miami yet, to be honest. With Parcells is where his heart has and always will lie. Sad, but true.

If you don't know his salary is about 1.6million this season. Thats very little investment for a potential STARTER, and even if he is realistically a third or 4th option when he does come back.

I think hes done, but he seems to have priced himself into the 53 man roster in big D.

about my 2 posts, I have plenty in other forums including 8k at terrellowens.com LOL

I think Glenn is done, but even if he did play again, I don't think he would be the same player he was before though.

Guy risked not being able to walk right for the rest of his life to make it back for us last year and you are questioning his commitment?

people really do walk around in their own little worlds completely blinded by bias and prejudice.

The problem is that needing microfracture is no small situation. When a doctor tells you that you probably need microfracture, he's basically saying you WILL need surgery on that knee at some point.

Right now, he has bone rubbing on bone in his knee. That's not something you can really rehab from completely, it's something you can only endure.

If he does come back, at some point in the season he WILL miss time. It will swell up and bother him after every practice, every workout, and especially every game. So if he does come back and play some this year, even still, it'll more than likely be his last.

I agree. This is not something that is going to get better this will be something Glenn and the Cowboys will have to contend with all season long if Glenn does return. I can respect his desire to continue to play the game but I think it is time for Glenn to hang it up.

Was Jerry and Wade just blowing smoke at the end of last year when they were saying how good Terry was looking in practice?

Terry in 06 was arguably our # 1 receiver, most consistent, best hands, and could really stretch the field. If we get anything close to that guy back, our offense will be even scarier.

I think they were looking at the short term of him being back. Over the course of 16 weeks Glenn injury is not going to get better if anything it will get worse
