TEs and the Run Game?

In the first game, Witten and Swaim IMO stood out for all the wrong reasons. Neither of them could handle Vernon. Have they gotten better securing the edges or are the Cowboys doing more weak side runs?

They quit doing some things that failed in game 1 and gave certain types of blocks to Swaim that were being done by Witten.

For instance, in game 1 any blocks where Witten had to move across the backfield after the snap were a problem. The timing was off. I don't see Witten doing those as much and I see Swaim doing them more.

They ask the TEs to perform high degree of difficulty blocks often while they make run blocking easier for the RT.
