say you took a test right, it had 33 answers, and the grading was on how many you answered correctly...

say the grading system is out of 9 possible points, and you need a 4 to pass...

you answered 23 questions, 20 of them you were sure you got right...

that's passing, right?

You're saying you have to get less than half right to pass... and you're sure you got 20 out of 33 right??

That's more than half of them right, so by my math, that's a pass.

it's kind of confusing because they grade it 1-9, needing a 4 to pass

I'm trying to figure out how that works since there's 33 questions

If all the questions are weighted the same its just a simple proportion.

4/9 = X/33

I'd say you need a 16 to pass.

that's what I figured

btw, it's an Electrician's Apprenticeship test

I guess you pass according to that rather lax scoring system.

It's still just 60%, which in most grading systems would be a D-

;)
