For the first time in my life, I opened up a betting account. Now, I'm a total wuss so I only deposited the bare minimum, and my bets will be of the $10 variety. If I go up by like $50, I'll probably just cash out. And I'm already up $20 because of my first-ever bet last night on my Cowboys.

Help me win $5 tonight, guys! Haha.

Not sure why your at -5, most books have the Texans at -3.5(some 4) ATM. With that said, take the Texans, easily.

If you want to experiment a bit, since small bets, do a two-team parlay. Take the Texans and the over in the Wash/Phil game :)

Thanks for the advice-- I appreciate it a lot. That stinks that the line is lower at most places. I'm using BetUs.com. Is there a better place to go to? And I was thinking the Texans for sure, so thanks for confirming. Ooh, you can parlay an over and under? I may do that!

I bet 40 bucks on Cowboys last night and won. I will go for Texans and Skins myself. But both games are at -3.5. Why do you have -5 for Texans?

Keep in mind (depending on which one you are using) they sometimes have minimum amounts for withdrawal. The whole offshore betting thing has become too complicated.

That being said I would take the Texans to cover that easy, and probably the Commanders too. Actually I would parlay the Commanders and Texans on just the moneyline so you don't have to worry about point spreads.

What's the moneyline without spreads mean?

And what do you mean-- I have to win a certain amount before I can withdraw any winnings?

The moneyline is a bet where you pick the winner without a point spread, basically just pick who wins. But instead of winning even money you win by a different multiplier depending on how much a team is favored/notfavored. Like you take the favored team and only have to win but win less money, or a lot more money if you take the underdog and they win.

Sometimes. They passed some laws back in 2006 that made it more difficult to transfer money between banks and offshore betting/poker sites. You might just have to check the rules wherever you are using. Sometimes they trick the rules up to keep you from withdrawl hoping you'll just eventually lose.

Gambling on sports is a lot of fun but it has become too much work to get money back and forth that it is not worth the trouble anymore. I stopped doing it completely unless I'm in Las Vegas.

My betting site has the Texans favored by 6. I'm taking San Diego and the points.

Thank you for all this insight. That's a huge help. Truly, thanks man. :)

I would stay away from parlaying the two teams moneylines. The payout will be about the same as straight bets in this case tonight.

For example:
Hou ML(moneyline) is -210
Wash ML is -220

If you make a $20 2-team parlay bet with those ML's, the payout is $20.94

The risk is not worth the reward. Two-team parlay's pay out at 13/5, about 2.5 times the bet.

If ya made a $20 parlay bet tonight with point spreads, you would make $51.38 at lines of -115 and -110.

This risk is worth the reward :)

It's a tough call, I was just throwing out options that he had.

Some rules I do know, you always take a double digit underdog. Meaning if you get 10+ points in the nfl you take it, like the Bills were +11 yesterday.

I heard Bill Parcells of all people say that with horse racing you always bet a little to win a lot, not bet a lot to win a little. Like you go for the upsets not for the sure things.

Sometimes they have where you can do just the first half/second half. I used to like to do the over/under on the total points, or sometimes they have team total points.

Good luck.
