Texans clock management

Not my center. I was born and raised in Dallas, and have been a Boys fan since I was old enough to walk. Living in Houston means I see a lot of Texans games, and I would say they're my second favorite team. Having said that Myers is solid and Duane Brown has been one of the best LT's in the league for several years now.

No sweat. Hell I live in Missouri and like Cowboys. I do pull for Texans to do well for a AFC TEAM. I see you a Coogs fan.

Imo the single most questionable decision made by either team was the Texans going empty backfield on the 3rd and 2 in overtime. Declaring before the play that there's no possibility of a run when Arian Foster had been gashing us all day was the height of stupidity.

^^^^^^. This. Foster was hashing us at that point in the game and they took him out and went empty backfield

I was watching the game and arguing with my dad that there was no way the Texans should have gone for the first 4th down on their long FG drive, but not the second. It would have been a relatively long field goal, but a makeable one for Bulock on the 4th down they went for. They wasted 2-3 minutes and then settled for 3 anyways.

Why go for the first 4th down conversion but not the second? I can't say for sure that it would have made any difference, but it seemed like a colossal mistake to me. Thoughts?

Don't remember the distance to go for the first in each case, but the first one they went for was short relative to the second one that they didn't go for.

Actually, what surprised me a bit more was the Cowboys kicking a 49-yarder on third down in overtime. I get that if you wind up losing yards it could be disastrous, and setting up for a kick on 3rd down may help ameliorate a screwed-up snap or hold if it happens. But at the same time, the kicker had missed just a few minutes earlier by only 4 yards longer. And if the kick is missed, the Texans are in good field position. I thought a safe play to gain at least a couple of yards to try to make the kick a bit shorter would be reasonable.

It was 4th and 2 vs. 4th and 4.

I had to work so I missed the game but when I read he missed I was surprised. He's so clutch. And he ended up being clutch in the end. I saw him on ESPN after they won & he was so cool about it. No jumping around or screaming. They definitely have adapted to Jason's personality. He was the same.
