Glass Joe is a nice guy, great player, but Houston should have dealt him yrs ago while his stock was still high.
Last year he was voted #11 by the players (his peers) in the league. While he wasn't the impact player he was pre knee injury, he was still throwing QB's all over the field. Lead the league in QB hits this year.Glass Joe is a nice guy, great player, but Houston should have dealt him yrs ago while his stock was still high.
Did they have a choice after they shipped Clowney out of town? They spent a lot of chips going all in this year...Stupid Houston coaches were playing him way too much. Should've been limited to 50-60% of snaps.

You guys don't mean to be funny, but you are.Gotta play your best players to win. Wasn't a bad looking play either, just normal tackle. Guy needs to retire.

Simple math. The more a player plays, the more chance of injury. Really, guys, not complicated.
You're looking at this from a completely wrong angle. Playing Watt 95% of D snaps increased his chance of injury prolly around 300%.
Yes, they spent a lot of chips. And then stupidly overplayed one of their primary chips. Pretty much ensuring he would go down w/ injury.
So, you don't understand injuries!!!!So he should ride the bench and probably lose games and still takes a chance on him being hurt. Injuries can occur anytime like the 3rd play of the game like cooper a couple weeks ago or late in the game when you are trying to squeek out a win like the texans. If he sat watt and lost those fans would be asking why.

OK, let me try again. The more you play, the better the chance of getting injured. And if you play a ton of snaps in a game or during the course of the season, you play tired, and your chances of getting injured go up again.
Really, Charr, this isn't rocket science. Tired players get hurt more easily.
And the choice is, do you want Watt to play 60% of snaps w/ an 80% chance of avoiding injury, or do you want him to play 95% w/ a 10% chance of avoiding injury?
This is common sense stuff.
Its a shame. He was projecting as an all-time great. Might have to settle for Houston's version of the ROH.
I think he'll get into the HOF.
He had 5 great seasons on par with anyone who ever played. But, not a lot of 5 year wonders in the HOF. Its gonna be close.
